Departmental Politics. Why?

Is wikipedia the place to discuss history department politics? I've found from personal experience that all questions of awarding tenure/no tenure, promotion/no promotion, and job/no job in academia are very subjective. To say an essay a professor wrote about the Iraq War was the reason she did not get awarded something raises more questions than it answers and doesn't seem appropriate here. Besides, what does it mean to be "shamed" out of something? Whether in regards to Yale University or John Doe Community College, I don't think the airing of departmental dirty laundry is warranted in this article.216.48.60.35 18:37, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
