This is absolutely not true. The "global justice movement" as an expression was used well before 2003. It was used prior to 1999. I certainly was using the term in 1996. I have always associated the term with the People's Global Action and Zapatismo. - Cemendur

Regardless of their wish to distinguish themselves from the term "anti-globalization", I think that both this term and

such as their reasons for rejecting globalization -- read the article before you suggest merging it. I think the term is widely used and stands on its own and it would confuse readers to redirect to Anti-globalization. Very belatedly, I agree that this should be merged into Anti-globalization movement. I'm not aware of any work on the topics that refer to the anti-globalisation and global justice movements as separate movements, rather than as different names for a single movement. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:51, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly disagree - this implies that it is a movement for global justice and would be misleading. If the article implies that an organisation calling itself 'Global Justice Movement' is a movement for global justice it is by definition not NPOV, by not reflecting the views of those who see it as not being for global justice according to their definition. To add, the naming policy specifically states that proper nouns must have all words capitalized, and unless there is only one definition of 'global justice', then a particular and specific interpretation must be called 'Global Justice Club' because it refers to a specific group. Your example is actually an excellent argument for decapitalization. I don't know if it was around when you made this comment, but there is currently an organization called The Global Justice Movement. This article is not about that organization, but the movement as a whole. Assuming I remember to do so, I'll make this change in a day or two if there are no further objections. Over half a year later, I'm going to be bold and act on this. The article describes a "network" (cf. Civil rights movement, Women's liberation movement), and capitalization could cause confusion with a specific group with the same name, which itself may merit its own article in time. --BDD (talk) 19:43, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the article could reflect that the definition of justice is completely individual, and that an organisation simply calling itself "Global Justice Movement" does not mean that it is a movement for global justice in any way, shape or form? I have even seen articles referring to this without even capitalising the G, J and M, so as to indirectly imply that the propositions represent a nonpartial and independent view of what "justice" is. E.g. if a movement called itself the "Global Health Movement" and argued for removing immigrants from a nation, I am sure it wouldn't be listed under GHM in Wikipedia (or be referred to in sentences as 'the global health movement' or 'a movement for global health'. Maybe the article should mention that most of the propositions of the Global Justice Movement are heavily disputed by a number of people as representing 'justice'?90.220.248.114 (talk) 17:58, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
