That would explain the large number of "fixing Chicago link" messages in my watchlist two days ago. The so-called fix didn't seem to fix anything, but changed the displayed text from either Chicago, Illinois or Chicago, IL to just Chicago. The other editor didn't even use the pipe trick to keep the displayed text unchanged. Since the standard name format for pages about American cities is "City, State", and the other formats redirect to it, I didn't see much of a reason not to restore the original versions and bypass the redirects to
