More work

More work needed on the article plus some pictures to upload. The history of the park following Pricess Amelia's death is more complex than I had thought. Peter Maggs 20:43, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Residents regard it as being in the London Borough of Ealing

The park is clearly entirely in Hounslow. [1] MRSCTalk 11:12, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ealing and Acton councils that purchased the park, not Hounslow. The fact that Gunnersbury now lies administratively within Hounslow hardly changes its historical and social perspective. Ask the local residents whether they think Gunnersbury park is in Hounslow! Peter Maggs (talk) 14:41, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Its fairly irrelevant what local residents think. They do not have the power to "think" the park into the London Borough of Ealing. If there is a source for unhappyness about the situation, perhaps add that. MRSCTalk 14:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As to whether it's irrelevent what the local residents think, I would invite any of them reading this to comment! As I said in my original entry on your talk page, you miss the point. No-one argues with the fact that the park is administratively in Hounslow and the observation you edited out did not contradict that point. In ignoring the social context of the park, you lessen the historical accuracy of the piece.Peter Maggs (talk) 15:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to this the park has been entirely in Hounslow (and its predecessors) since at least the parish of Old Brentford i.e. before 1894. However, we learn here that Acton BC, Ealing BC and Brentford and Chiswick BC jointly administered the park. The article should reflect these sources. MRSCTalk 16:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No houses in gunnersbury

Iam writing to get support for Gunnersbury park.

Hounslow and Ealing joint council committee have been holding secretive meetings to discuss gunnersbury park and are not open to the public and already rumours are rife that they are planning to build luxury homes on part of the park.

Labout MP Ann Keen has opened a petition to request that further meetings ofthe board are made public and that their minutes are made available to all and also that the two councils are opposed to all and any housing developments suggested on the site.
To take part in this petition please contact Ann Keen MP directly at Ann keen MP,Gunnersbury Petition,Freepost 19223,367 Chiswick high road,London W4 4AG.or you can email your support at [email protected].

Photograph of 'Gunnersbury Park' from the air

The photograph is of Kew Gardens. Gunnersbury Park is barely visible top right. Is this photograph really relevant on this page? Subject to comments, I propose to delete it. Peter Maggs (talk) 16:51, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 23:09, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
