- James Wood (governor) → James Wood (Virginia politician)
- Charles Scott (governor) → Charles Scott (Kentucky politician)
– As I understand it from a comment made in an ongoing RM at
- Oppose both, per WP:CONSISTENT does not apply. The proposed titles would be fine as redirects. Station1 (talk) 06:45, 25 September 2018 (UTC)]
- Comment: I have some sympathy with the comment above, but it seems potentially inconsistent with what was described as the general practice on Wikipedia as discussed in several other recent and ongoing RMs – e.g., at Talk:Arthur Brown (Utah senator). I hope that some editors are not just ignoring this discussion because they assume it is uncontroversial so they aren't bothering to come here and see whether there have been any contrary comments. There are currently 237 pages that use "(governor)", 12 pages that use "(Governor)", and 81 others that use other forms of "(*overnor*)" (330 total). Those are not very big numbers. In some cases, "governor" may have been used because "politician" or "[state] politician" would have been ambiguous. —BarrelProof (talk) 01:03, 28 September 2018 (UTC)]
