Besides her voice itself, her particular way of using it was instantly recognisable: the overemphasis on the accented syllables, the seductive purr, the intelligent and musical modulation of pitch over the course of long sentences. Again, for objectivity, I'm just mentioning her slow, precise elocution which was essential to her recognisability. If you heard her speaking rapid-patter, you'd never be able to recognise her.
