Incorrect info

"as well as Jackson's first notable performance"
Could we get rid of this? If I knew what I was doing on wikipedia I would erase that line myself, considering Samuel L. Jackson had a "notable performance" in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing".--

Curious about title of film

"The title of the film refers to the sexual attraction of white people to black people." Is this a common phenomenon in the United States, i.e., is it only white people that may be attracted to black people and not the other way around? Is there another term for describing the sexual attraction of black people to white people, if this sort of situation occurs? Is "jungle fever" considered suitable for usage in polite company? It sounds as if it may be a little insulting? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.219.155.93 (talk) 03:24, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the term is generally disparaging to black people, and also to the white person attracted. Interracial relationships are very common in the US, and it would be insulting to both, of a couple, to call it "jungle fever". It would imply that it is some sort of primative urge, rather than just normal attraction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.222.153.116 (talk) 12:24, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The term refers to white attraction to black, and it is somewhat insulting. If you see your white friend looking at a black girl you might say "Someone's coming down with jungle fever!" and get a laugh without offending black people in earshot, but if your brother shows up to Thanksgiving with his new black wife you may want to hold your tongue. 67.101.56.110 (talk) 10:36, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It pretty much shows Spike Lee's hang up about inter-racial romance despite the fact that black and white have been interbreeding in the USA for many, many decades and that the current US president is a product of such interbreeding (Obama has a white mother and a black father.) There is no good reason why black and white should not happily date and interbreed. SmokeyTheCat  •TALK• 09:06, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit

Edited a misuse of an apostrophe.
