The sentence "In later years Kohoutek worked in observatories in Spain and Chile." is misleading: nowadays astronomers travel to big observatories in e.g. Spain or Chile while still actually working at their home institution, which in Kohoutek's case is still (or was until his retirement) the observatory in Hamburg.

The question is, was he physically present at the observatories for an extended time (perhaps a year) while on sabbatical but retaining affiliation with his home institution, or did he just travel there for the duration of an observation session. I don't know, and it seems perhaps too minor a point to research it. Perhaps the original author of the sentence can let us know. -- Curps 17:29, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Short site note: Even Kohoutek officially retired, he still has an office at the observatory which he uses frequently. --Biosphere75 (talk) 04:27, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
