name

From the title it seems her surname is Block, but she is repeatedly referred to as Lyon. What is her correct name?71.63.119.49 (talk) 04:28, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was wondering the exact same thing. That didn't make sense. 98.202.38.225 (talk) 04:39, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I also was confused by this. I'm going to go with her married surname, as used in the name of the article. Allreet (talk) 16:28, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This was a tad more complicated than I thought. Her marriages were not mentioned in the article and shed some additional light on the subject. Karl Block was her second husband and was considerably older than her. He is now deceased so this does not present any
WP:BLP concerns. But before the surname issue can be addressed, her marriages need to be addressed in the bio section. I found various newspaper articles that can be used as sources, but for a quick glimpse, the full story is told in a collection of clips in http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/death/US/block775.htm. If I get the time, I'll do just that. Allreet (talk) 16:50, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply

chair

In the 'Electric Chair' article it says that Lynda was executed via electric chair, not lethal injection. Which is correct??? --212.84.99.193 23:24, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • You'll notice that this article describes her electrocution accurately and goes on to mention that her husband was later executed by lethal injection. --Dystopos 21:47, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

She was executed in the electric chair. This information comes directly from her family. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BeccaRelly (talkcontribs) 02:28, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's a good deal about her, and George Sibley, that's not being told here. Sibley is described as her common-law husband, but it is not clear if this was legally valid under the circumstances, as I believe that she was not yet divorced from her legal husband at the time. Evidently she had a brief pre-Sibley career that included modeling. She met Sibley in Orlando, FL, and Sibley was one of these "Montana Freeman" types who supposed that he didn't have to pay taxes or utilities, nor have a driver's license. I know virtually nothing about Sibley's life. There was some sort of violent confrontation with Block's (ex-)husband, at which point Sibley and Block hit the road, with Block's children. At a store parking lot in Alabama, someone noticed the children inside the parked car - apparently one of them was acting as if in distress - and pointed the car out to policeman Motley. When Sibley returned to his car, Motley asked to see his driver's license. Sibley reached into his car, apparently to fetch the license, but came out with a gun and started shooting Motley; Block was at a pay phone, heard the shots, and (having a gun in her handbag) joined in shooting Motley. At their trial they attempted virtually all the courtroom stunts that had been used (unsuccessfully) by the Montana Freemen, and were sentenced to death. Sibley reportedly instructed Block not to appeal and she didn't; Sibley himself appealed after Block had been executed. 173.79.234.183 (talk) 17:36, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
