Religious information

Since Marshall Rosenberg isn't involved in any religious organizations or work, in my opinion it's not pertinent to mention the religion of his parents.

The reason why I felt it was relevant was I was involved in NVC psychotherapy with a Uncertified NVC trainer who was a psychiatric social worker and she did not tell me of the religious content in the NVC book and I was unprepared for the religious counseling, because of my past problems with religion and the violence I witnessed in it. This social worker also violated many of the NVC rules and 19 rules of her license. The result left me very hurt and depressed. Thanks, Rich. This clarifies some things. It sounds like you want to help other people avoid the shock and hurt you felt. I have read the book Nonviolent Communication and I saw very little religious content, other than Rosenberg speaks of being discriminated against for his religion and has mediated religion-based conflicts. Could you tell me what content you're referring to? Or is it possible that the social worker distorted the religious content?

Also, I looked for the frown face on the NVC talk page and couldn't find it. :(

Dear Dblomgren

I don't know how you Cannot see the Religious content or the teachings of Jesus Christ in Dr.Rosenberg's Language of Life book. First thing the word Noviolent Communication comes from the HUNDI teaching of Gandiu. On page 15 Dr. Roseberg quotes the words of Jesus Christ Book of Matthew 7/1. On page 181 Dr. Rosenberg tells his version of Corinthians 1 Chapter 13 1/13 Gift of Love from the New Testament. On page 181 Dr. Rosenberg says we Children of God. In the Epilogue section of the NVC book there is a parable story of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The section about punitive force page 162 Dr. Rosenberg tells the reader not to follow Proverb 23 13/14 in the Old Testament which says Spare the Rod Spoil the Child. There is also alot of Hundism and Buddism in the book too. Even the cover the Sunflower is the Christian Symbol for World Peace. That is why the earth's contients are yellow instead of green. Check out the other sections of the bible I mention and you will see how it applies to NVC book. I am not putting my own thoughts about NVC or violating WP:OR. My published source is the Language of Life NVC book. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN READ THE SAME BOOK AS I AND NOT SEE THIS??

Notability

Strange as it may seem, someone placed a "Notability" tag on this article. The suggestion is that Marshall Rosenberg is not notable. This despite the fact that googling "Marshall B. Rosenberg" gets about 1.3 million hits, and the fact that his book Nonviolent Communication: The Language of Life ranks 715 on Amazon.com's bestseller list. There are so many google hits on his organization, one has to sort through hundreds to find "published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject" as required by the guideline on

Memnoon Concept

I came here to learn about the "Memnoon" Concept, but I found nothing but this:

+1, I also came to look for a translation of memnoon.

According to the youtube video linked above what he means by "a memnoon" is a particular way of asking, and instructs: Whenever asking anything from a person you are the closest with, give them a card that says please do what I have requested only if you can do so with the joy of a child feeding a hungry duck. Please do not do as I requested if you fear there is punishment if you don't, and not to buy my love, and not if you feel guilty or ashamed if you don't, or from a sense of duty or obligation. And the idea is to only give out of memnoon energy - i.e. the duck-feeding feeling - because anything else is in the end more harmful than good. (This is not quite a direct quote, I cannot type fast enough for that.)

Who's Ted Crawford? He must be a real maven if it's noteworthy that he allegedly liked aspects of Marshall Rosenberg's philosophy.

A USA citizen's passport gives the nationality as "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Interior_of_US_Passport.JPG. This is a bit strange, since it is a noun, but "American" can hardly be a nationality, seeing as "America" is not a country (old debate, I know, but "American" seems like the worst of all possibilities, many countries being American). I guess "US-American" might do (even though Mexico is a "US", as well, apparently). B.

In his books he is usually -- if not always -- credited as "Marshall B. Rosenberg". I'm used to hear him called "Marshall B. Rosenberg" in presentations. So it's odd that this article doesn't even mention his middle initial.

Plus, does anyone have any idea what the B. stands for?
