The source we currently have says "born in 1968" then later "born 1 April 1969". That sounds like double speak to me. It was written by 2 authors, who apparently did not check each other's copy. Completely agree Jack. I have been trying to track down a definitive source, but found the inconsistencies you listed. The "1 April 1969" reference is the only source that lists day, month and year but I suspect the year should be 1968 as that is more often quoted. Looks like we are the April Fools! This really shouldn't be too much of a mystery. He was a born in Melbourne, where such information is very well recorded and maintained. Are birth notices a possibility? But it also highlights the fact that every time I've tried to look for stuff like this about politicians it's turned out to be quite hard to find. They don't seem to want us to know how old they are. It's more just that the websites are lazy about listing them. The Victorian, Tasmanian and Queensland parliamentary websites routinely list birth dates and the vast majority of MPs include them; it's the rest of the states letting us down (and NSW does include them, but only once the person in question retires, for some reason). This tweet from Sally Loane wishes him a happy birthday, it's dated 31 March, but says "hell of a date for a birthday" so could be referring to 1 April. However, Mark Coure wishes him a happy birthday here... on 3 January. So that's no help! --Canley (talk) 05:31, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. 3 January is 3/1, or in American-speak 1/3, which is the day before 4 Jan = 4/1 or 1/4. So, those could both have 1 April in mind, albeit the latter guy confused the reading of the code. Every article I've seen bar that one with the inconsistencies says 1968, a number say he is 46 and this one says he turned 46 "last week." April 1968 seems pretty clear? Melcous (talk) 10:07, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, this matter was resolved. The source being "The King's School register 1831–1999" (3rd ed.)

Orphaned references in Mike Baird

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Mike Baird's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Supporting dementia is part of the subject's life and career

@Abacrombi: I noticed your deletion and, having given it some thought, reverted. Of course material about the subject's immediate family is pertinent to the story of that person. Moreover, caring for people with dementia is part of this person's life, at the family level and, it seems, at the career level too. @The Little Platoom: Howdy, I do not think it relevant because it is not stated as an actual reason for him taking the job (he actually said somewhat of the opposite). He said that he has a history with aged care facilities, "He said all families had been touched by aged care, including his own." but that "despite his personal experience, Mr Baird says he had not thought about a role like this."
