Proposed Changes for Updated Information

Untitled

The name of the Pop art Duo "YoMeryl" is misspelled "YoMerly," and could link to YoMeryl, the Wikipedia page on the subject. The statement that my work focuses on the empowerment of women is a misread of my artists statement, which reads "Her work focuses on empowered women, campy/queer sensibilities, and the (often hilarious) trials of our present passage from the Analog to the Digital Era," which I believe presents a different shade than this wording. I am the subject in question, and would be grateful if these adjustments could be made! thesarahshow 22:27, 7 March 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesarahshow (talkcontribs)

Hello! This article was created about me a few years ago, and I would love for someone to update the information. Please see this recent press piece on HuffPost as a source: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/tumblr-artists-pride-month_n_5d013c14e4b0985c4196eb3e?yq as well as my website: http://www.sarahzucker.com

Updates/additions that need to be made are as follows:

Sarah Zucker is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works in writing and video art (see HuffPost article). The Current Sea is now known as "fancy nothing," and is a solo curatorial project and not a duo. Sarah Zucker wrote several short-form comedy series for Super Deluxe through her studio YoMeryl. Sarah Zucker is a Jeopardy! Champion. (see website, and IMDB page as source: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5290105/)

As this does not specifically require an administrator, I have changed it to a standard help request. You may find it more effective to make it a formal
edit request instead. 331dot (talk) 19:48, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply

There does not seem to be a question for helpers to answer, so I'm closing the "help me" request. As noted above, you may be looking for {{Request edit}}. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 07:48, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  Clarification requested

  • To get this information added, we first need to ask a few questions. These questions will help to flesh out how the information should eventually be worded.
  1. The Current Sea is now known as "fancy nothing," and is a solo curatorial project and not a duo. Was it a duo when it was Current Sea? Please specify. If the answer is "yes it was", then the information in the article ought to describe both, not just one or the other. The reasoning behind this is thus: Just as it would be wrong to describe only the Current Sea and not fancy nothing, it would also be wrong to describe fancy nothing and not Current Sea.
Yes, it was a duo when it was The Current Sea from 2013-2016. It then became a solo project by Sarah Zucker, still styled as "The Current Sea" from 2017-2019. The name was transitioned to "fancy nothing" on May 22, 2019, as documented on the official website: [1] thesarahshow 19:03, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
  1. Sarah Zucker wrote several short-form comedy series Please describe these series.
Sarah Zucker wrote the following short-form comedy series for Super Deluxe: "Panic Attacks," a series about the horrors of modern adulthood, "Shows That Weren't," a series of TV trope fever dreams, and "Mutations," a morphing celebrity lexicon. [2] thesarahshow 19:03, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

When ready to proceed with the requested information, kindly change the {{request edit}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=yes to |ans=no. Thank you!

Hello! This article was created about me a few years ago, and I see someone just made some updates, but there are some factual inaccuracies, poor grammar, and general updates still needed. I would really appreciate if someone would correct and update this for me, as it affects my public reputation! There is a recent press piece in HuffPost about my work that is not being referenced, when it helps to clear up a lot of the out-of-date information. It can be found here: [3]

Corrections that need to be made:

  1. The opening statement is not an accurate summary of my work, and is based on an article from 2014 about a single project. Please refer to my official bio to craft a more accurate description [4], or use this recent press piece from HuffPost: [5]. A more accurate opening statement could be: "Sarah Zucker is a writer and multidisciplinary artist known for her use of vintage video technologies and Animated GIF Art."
  1. The statement about The Current Sea has poor syntax, and is inaccurate as the project has a new name, as shown in the HuffPost Article. It should read something along the lines of: "She runs Fancy Nothing, a solo curatorial project formerly known as The Current Sea, which was a creative duo."
  1. The article currently describes Super Deluxe as a series, when it was a channel. This should more accurately read: "Sarah Zucker wrote the following short-form comedy series for Super Deluxe: "Panic Attacks," a series about the horrors of modern adulthood, "Shows That Weren't," a series of TV trope fever dreams, and "Mutations," a morphing celebrity lexicon."
  1. The article could make mention that Sarah Zucker is a Jeopardy! Champion. See IMDB page as source: [6]

  1. Thank you for your feedback. The lead sentence you've proposed claims that the subject is "known for her use of vintage video technologies and Animated GIF Art." One of the references provided states "I make use of video feedback in a lot of my work, and this is the perfect visual representation of how an idea can reflect back on itself and then create infinite inward mutations." The subject's description of "a lot of her work" is as a visual representation of certain ideas. Please describe how this does not align with the description of the subject as a visual artist.
  2. The description of the Current Sea as being a solo project since 2017 is correct according to the source provided. I've added the new name.
  3. Please provide a reference for the claims regarding Super Deluxe.
  4. Please remember to sign all your talk page posts with four tildes.

This article was created about me, and is in need of updating. I would appreciate an editor making some updates, and I have provided some recent press for source material. Corrections and updates needed:

  1. Please add information about my work in the field of
crypto art. Here are two sources about my work in this field: [7] [8]
  2. Add a mention that Sarah Zucker is a Jeopardy! Champion, having won on September 27th, 2013. Source: [9]
  3. Please remove the birthdate, it is not based on any publicly available source.
  4. Remove the line "A particular focus of Zucker's work is the use of short looping animations in the style of .gif files, such as cartoons of iconic figures in contemporary feminism including Rachel Maddow and Lena Dunham" as there is no source attached to this, and it not an accurate statement.
  5. Change the line "She is a member of the creative duo the Current Sea (a solo project called Fancy Nothing since 2017)" to something more current and accurate. Such as saying that she was formerly a member of the creative duo The Current Sea. She has run the curatorial project Fancy Nothing since 2017.
