To do

  • DOB/Age?
  • Stefan's website says he arrived in Australia as a teenager; where is he from originally?
  • Fair use/free photo

I think he was originally Lebanese (or so said a consultant at work who used to work for him). Lankiveil 11:45, 27 November 2006 (UTC).[reply]
I read in a newspaper magazine in 2006 which featured an interview with Stefan, and apparently he doesn't know his own date of birth. He estimated his own age at the time to be around sixty. --LoofNeZorf (talk) 13:43, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On notability

  • he is a readily recognised business personality in Australia. He employs over 500 people, and has often appeared in national tv ads for his own products.
  • he was a finalist in the 2004 Australian of the Year Awards. [1]
  • he is the owner of (and is heavily associated with) a major landmark in a city of 3 million people: see
    The Skyneedle, Brisbane, Queensland
    .

Look at
WP:BIO. Employing 500 people and appearing on commercials for his own products do not guarantee notability. However, if he really was a finalist in the 2004 Australian of the Year award, that does help, and should be cited. The owner of a landmark doesn't guarantee notability either. It's not proposed for deletion in either case. From what I can tell, he's a local celebrity, so finding 2-3 more non-trivial articles about him shouldn't be too difficult. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 09:19, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply

[2] Here is a much better reference for the Australian of the Year nomination (primary source in fact). I'll put it into the article. FiggyBee 09:23, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is an interesting bio at [3] which is obviously c&p'd from somewhere else, but I can't find the original. I'd rather not use this link as a reference... Ahah.. also that gave me a clue for finding more. He apparently sometimes goes by the name of Steve Ackerie FiggyBee 09:39, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you kidding? Stefan is a very well known man-about-town in Brisbane. Lankiveil 12:22, 26 November 2006 (UTC).[reply]
