Name

I am not sure if the name is correct. From snippet view of "Feather Fancier, Volume 55, Issue 613 - Volume 58, Issue 656, page 132": "This class of 'pigeons has reached North America, beginning first in Canada as far back. as 1967; and are often referred to as "Ukrainian Skycutters". However. the term "Ukrainian Skycutter is not exactly 100% correct and has led to a great amount of misunderstanding. As I understand it, Nikiolayev is a city in the South Ukraine and "Tuchereti" will will in fact translate to mean "Clould Cutter" -hence "Ukrainian Skycutter". Unfortunately, a clear conception of the name has never been held on this continent and in fact, three different breeds have been given the generic name of "Ukrainian Skycutter", resulting in a great amount of confusion. These three races are the two Orlik varieties, the Ukrainian Shield Tumblers and a strain of white Nikolajevski. The result has been that becausse of this generic name, the three have been crossed to a horrible degree. It would be my opinion that at least half of these so called Ukrainian Sheilds in North America are actually crosses between the two Orlik races and the White Nikolajewski. So for the feature, let us read rid ourselves of this term "Sky Cutter" as a breed; since it refers to a class of similar breeds and let Orliks be known as Orliks, Nikolajevski as Nikolajevski (or Nikos) and the Shield races (2 races of these) as Shields" I hope this will help someone more familiar with birds/pigeon names/etc. to figure out what to do. IMHO this should be a disambig page, linking to the four breeds noted above. PS. I am not 100% familiar with NPA-breeds, but as I know "Ukrainian Skycutters" (in Europe) are a type of sport pigeons (highflyers?) and refers to more than one breed. In Europe there are two breeds of Orliks and 3 or more breeds of Nikos (inkl. Shields).
Within the NPA there is a breed "Polish Orliks (= Ukrainian Skycutter). That may refer to the Polish Eagle (EE-No 0963; pl:Orlik polski) (also known as Lublin type) and the Polish Wilna Eagle (EE-No 0964; pl:Orlik Wilenski). --PigeonIP (talk) 12:45, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like this needs to be a disambiguation page, since there's not really a breed by this name, but it's a genericized term for a group of three breeds (and crosses between them).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  07:49, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
