Regarding my education, I studied at

PhD at ULPGC, Spain, so between research and courses I can enjoy the multiple nice beaches around the Gran Canaria

Maspalomas_Dunes beach. Located on the south side of the island and in the middle of a natural reserve, this beach is enjoyable year-round.
Meloneras beach. Especially enjoyable during winter since its location block most of the winds that are so annoying during the winter on Maspalomas_Dunes beach.
La Laja beach. Located on the south side of the city of
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
. This is a family-oriented beach that usually, not counting the weekends, is not too crowded.
San Cristobal beach. Also located in the city of
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
provides another small family-oriented beach in the side of the fisherman neighborhood. BTW seafood restaurants here usually provide great food at economic prices.
