I understand the issue. I never meant to actually publish this article, I simply was experimenting with the Sandbox until I saw the "Submit For Review" button. Either way, I appreciate the feedback. Again, I don't plan on actually using my own sandbox as an article, as it was never meant to be one. I will come back once I create an actual article. Listed refs

Hi Dcdiehardfan, I really appreciate all your contributions to

WP:CITEVAR, we should really stick to a single citation format, so I would really appreciate if you could add references in the listed format in future. Thanks. – IronManCap (talk) 13:51, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply
]

@IronManCap I appreciate you letting me know about this issue. However, I have a slight confusion about using list-defined referneces, as I really don't know what they are. What I simply do is copy and paste from my sources (which obviously, are reputable ie The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Variety, etc) and then use the automatic citation template. From there, I don't do any modifications. Is there any modifications I need to make to fit the criteria. Thank you, and I also appreciate your work on Black Widow too. -Dcdiehardfan (talk) 20:15, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can find an explanation of this at
visual editing, so maybe it's an automatic formatting thing with that, so I guess the listed format may only be possible with source code editing. Thanks! IronManCap (talk) 12:35, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply
]
@IronManCap I see, I will keep that in mind when editing Wikipedia in the future. I think the citation formatting does come automatically from visual editing, which I do prefer to source editing, although again, I do switch between the two within the edits. Either way, I think this is a great opportunity for me to learn about different styles of citations. Thanks! -Dcdiehardfan (talk) 05:18, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I did read the source, however, this source is unreliable, as the source states it is based on "Previous Disney+ releases", which doesn't mean anything. Other sources say otherwise!

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Hey, if you want you can't just add any info for the article to my Sandbox since it's all gonna end up being copy edited and eventually be moved to the main article anyway before it's nominated for GA. -- Zoo (talk) 23:00, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I apologize for any confusion the edits may have caused, and plan on manually updating your sandbox (I will leave the syncing element in the header alone as I tried and failed to sync it there; you can update the sync element). With that being said, I presume you are suggesting that all the additional information be integrated and set-up in your sandbox, and then moving all the content into the main article, is that correct? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:20, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's correct. Thanks for all the info you added today. For the syncing we have to actually manually add the info. Unfortunately no automated syncing as of now. -- Zoo (talk) 01:30, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edward Nashton (The Batman franchise)

hey, I am a HUGE DC Comics fan, and love The Batman. however, I have not had the chance to read The Riddler: Year One. I have been working on Draft:Edward Nashton (The Batman franchise) and was hoping you could help with this using info from the Riddler: Year one. it would be much appreciated! Jstewart2007 (talk) 18:28, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jstewart2007 Hey there! I'm aware that this is definitely super duper late. However, with that being said, I'm also a huge Batman fan and am glad you reached out to me. I think I won't work on the draft right now as I believe the general rule is that the character must appear in at least 3 projects and I have also other tasks planned. Either way, I'll look at it while I can. For now, I'd recommend copying and pasting the plot summaries from R:Y1 and then just modifying it from there, and it'll be no biggie anyways as again, it's your tentative userspace that you'll be working on over time. Avengers

Hey, I know you've been great about expanding articles in the past (congrats on your GAN of episode 1 of Kenobi), so I was wondering if you'd want to work with me to finish getting Avengers to a Good Topic? Eventually I want to make it a Featured Topic, but one step at a time. I nominated Avengers (Marvel Cinematic Universe) for GA recently, and that's the main article of the topic. All that's left are the soundtracks for each of the 4 movies and Production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which I know Adamstom started reworking on in a sandbox a while back. Technically List of accolades received by Avengers: Infinity War also needs to become a Featured List, but I think it just needs someone to nominate it.

If you're not interested, no worries. I'm just trying to find an additioanl person or two to help with this long process. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ZooBlazer Hey! I'm glad to hear from you again. I would love to help you out and see how I can pull my weight around. Let me know what I can do to help you out here. I unfortunately am not experienced enough yet to start reviewing GAs but I'll obviously try to see what content needs to be inserted. And btw thanks for mentioning my GAN of Kenobi Pt 1! :) Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:54, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You don't actually have to review anything. We just need to get the pages prepped and nominate them for GA. Once everything is a GA/Featured List, then we nominate them all as a Good Topic. Something like this, although the arrangement isn't necessarily how the final product will look. On a side note, I plan on nominating Thanos as a GT once the Blip becomes a GA. Avengers just has a lot more articles to deal with.
I'm very inexperienced with soundtrack articles but I think Music of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has some refs we can use for each movie. Beyond that, I guess we can refer to Black Panther (soundtrack) since it's the only MCU soundtrack GA. And according to the talk page of the production article, we need more post-production / VFX info.
I thought about reviewing the Kenobi article for you, but I contributed too much to the article in the past I think, so im not allowed to be the reviewer. -- ZooBlazertalk 01:27, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm gonna start with the Avengers soundtrack which I added to my sandbox to work on it. I'm guessing the main things needed for each soundtrack article would be some background info on it/the recording process. And also maybe some reception, which can probably be found in reviews for the movies at the very least. I brought over 3 refs from the main music article as well. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:22, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I will see what I can do to hopefully incorporate background info on the recording process. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 16:05, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just did a quick search for info, and all the results are just links to the soundtracks on places like apple and Amazon... I think I have to figure out better wording. -- ZooBlazertalk 16:27, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yea I also got more or less the same thing. Another idea I had would just be looking up materials or interviews by Alan Silvestri on the Avengers soundtrack. The best idea though is to use refs in the Music of the Marvel Cinematic Universe articles, it has some pretty good content that can be reworked into the article. I'll also try to use the BP article as precedent as much as possible. And furthermore for the Avengers IW and EG production articles, I can get that covered. I have done deep dives on getting SFX info. I'll prolly begin by working on that. Are you sandboxing the production article or can I just go ahead and put it straight into the article? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 16:32, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I found a couple interviews from Silvestri and moved the refs from the music article for Avengers 1 to my sandbox. We'll see where we get with those for now I guess.
Production stuff can go straight to that article. If you want, you can check Adam's sandbox as well because he started an overhaul a while back but hasn't been able to finish it. -- ZooBlazertalk 16:43, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'll get prod stuff straight to the article. I'll also try to see if I can incorporate the material from the Silvestri refs into the sandbox when I can. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 18:21, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can do the soundtrack stuff if you're gonna be working on the production article. I just need to look through the refs to see what should be added. -- ZooBlazertalk 18:33, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright sounds good, I've already performed an edit for the production article adding some info for the Battle for the Avengers Compound scene. My next target will be to revamp the stuff regarding Howard the Duck cameo as I found some good sources regarding it. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 19:02, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, sounds good! -- ZooBlazertalk 19:10, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was looking at the Avengers category to see if I missed any potential additional articles that would need to be included and I'm guessing Lego Marvel's Avengers would be required. I'm hoping Avengers Campus isn't, but at least the game is already in okay shape. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:34, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh RIP. Well I guess that kinda complicates the process. Ok I guess the best thing to do is just to go and approach this in a one by one manner. I'll prolly do another edit today on the production article as I'm gonna fix up stuff relating to the Howard the Duck cameo in EG. I frankly think that the article is already pretty close for GA though tbqh. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 21:46, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It might be. Probably have to bring it up on the talk page. Maybe Adam's overhaul can be done when looking at a Featured Article nomination in the future. I brought up this potential good topic including the Lego game and Avengers Campus on the MCU task force talk page to get some additional feedback hopefully. -- ZooBlazertalk 22:00, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I took a look at Adam's sandbox and it looks like he planned to add sections for vfx on Hulk and the de-aging. After a quick search, I have multiple potential refs for each of those sections that we could use if we want. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:14, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I'll leave it up to you to add the content about Hulk and de-aging if it's not already. Is there anything else substantial from Adam's sandbox that hadn't been added yet? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:21, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is the difference from the article being replaced by the sandbox changes. I moved it all to one of my user pages for now because I felt weird randomly editing Adam's sandbox -- ZooBlazertalk 00:38, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
From a quick glance, it looks like we need the vfx info and more writing. Also vfx for Endgame in general. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:41, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, good news is that we may only need the production article and not the soundtracks or anything else that's not already a GA, although in the future I might work on the Lego game. The only problem is getting someone to nominate List of accolades received by Avengers: Infinity War, but I haven't been able to get in touch with the primary contributors. -- ZooBlazertalk 22:41, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright that's good that the burdens have lightened. With that being said, I would appreciate it if there was like some kind of bullet list or checklist for the stuff to do on the production article as that'll be very fun and just easier to identify what needs to be done. I'll try to raise it up at the talk page but yea, hopefully we can get it to GA soon. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 22:56, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Going off Adam's sandbox that I moved to one of mine to work on
  • Replace webcitation archives - Working on it. All 180 of them 1 by 1...
  • VFX info for Endgame
  • VFX info for Hulk and aging/de-aging - working on it
  • Writing info, including about the process
-- ZooBlazertalk 23:04, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Some info might be on the main article that can be moved into the overhaul including your recent additions -- ZooBlazertalk 23:09, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer
Replace webcitation archives - Working on it. All 180 of them 1 by 1... Wdym? Are some of them defunct or? And on this note, I'm also noticing that refs haven't fully been marked with access-level, as there are sources such as NYT and VF being cited.
VFX info for Endgame and VFX info for Hulk and aging/de-aging - I'll leave the latter two to you. Is there any additional VFX info needed for EG outside of Hulk, maybe perhaps more details on the Battle of the Avengers Compound?
Writing info, including about the process - Are you sure? I think there is a lot of information about writing, just me personally. It's definitely filled with good content and the max I see being needed is maybe a good CE and cleanthrough. What more is needed? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 23:13, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Web.archive just seems to be preferred nowadays. Yes, we'll need to mark url-access as well. Looks like there are roughly 40 less refs on Adam's changes so I'm not sure if it's outdated or if he removed unnecessary refs
  • We also need to make sure all links are for MCU articles/redirects. I think Adam had an older version before all characters had one or the other, so I had to replace all the comic links in the casting section.
  • Here is a link to the IW VFX so you can see the kind of things that nay be needed. The compound is probably a good place to start.
  • Here is the writing section so you can see for yourself. I guess there are subsections for process, but it feels weird to have 2 straight empty sections for writing
-- ZooBlazertalk 23:29, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
but it feels weird to have 2 straight empty sections for writing I'm confused what those two sections are? And also I think most of the info from the Writing section from your sandbox is already present. Again, I apologize if I'm a bit slow here, but I really don't see the need for more writing content as I personally think there is enough and am not sure what you would have in mind. Also do note that most of the refs in the Production article are from Wayback. The only ones that aren't are <ref name="GamorasDeathWarnedToGunn">, all the YT ones, which can be interchanged, and the Business Insider refs, which have issues with the website parameters. Also, the Howard the Duck ref is deliberately pulled from archive.today as the url was excluded on the Wayback. VFX obviously needs work. I think the first thing of note should probably be to retitle the subsections and arrange them more methodically as I believe that's warranted considering it's just a bunch of info and rather unpleasant to the eyes. My recommendations are obviously modelled from your sandbox, but I like the idea of doing "Thanos", then "Hulk", and then tackling the VFX on a film basis, so cover the stuff in IW and EG in separate sections maybe. The opening paragraph could definitely summarize the companies that worked on both IW/EG, VFX shot count, and other stuff like that. So yea, that's just what I'm thinking of right now. Let me know what you think. Chances are though, I probably should bring this up on the talk page. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:04, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm confused what those two sections are?

    • Then the first bit of info starts. The writing info overall is fine other than probably some c/e.
  • The refs with urls that are webcitation.com tend to be replaced now to web.archive.org urls. Months ago a bot went through articles replacing them, but sandboxes were skipped.
  • Rearranging sections in general may be be a good idea. Might be a little trial and error to get it right.
  • Chances are though, I probably should bring this up on the talk page - You can be
    WP:BOLD
with the changes. There's nothing that can't be changed later after the sandbox info is implemented. We'll probably need a few people to do a c/e before a GAN anyway since this is a relatively important MCU article.
-- ZooBlazertalk 00:24, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Instead of updating archives, I just moved all the refs from the main page to my sandbox. I have to reorganize all the refs, but that's easy -- ZooBlazertalk 00:52, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Off topic, but I recommend you keep your Kenobi GAN just because it takes months sometimes before the review even happens, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal to have more than one article nominated at a time. -- ZooBlazertalk 23:31, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the recommendation. However, I'll still keep it down for now as I would like to take it one at a time (I'm not very experienced with the GA process yet as my previous one for the Snyder Cut had failed, unfortunately) and instead be able to fully focus on my other GAN, Breaking Bad. I think that should be done sooner considering there is a user, Bilorv, that has been routinely working with the BCS episode articles, particularly with the GAN. However, if it's not picked up in a week, then I'll heed your recommendation. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:07, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
May have been better to deal with the refs after they were all organized because I've done everything through casting on my sandbox, which is the first 175 refs and they use whatever was on the production article before your edit... -- ZooBlazertalk 03:49, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now that there's not much to do with the production article except wait, do you want to help me prep Thanos' article for FA? A couple months ago I requested someone to look at the article to let me know what I need to work on before nominating, and one thing is to trim up the biography section. I know you're great with adding info to articles, but are you good with cutting out unnecessary info? I'm terrible with big trims.

I also have to find replacements for all the screen rant refs... that won't be easy, but I guess screen rant isn't a high enough quality source for featured content. The rest of the stuff shouldn't be terrible, just some additional non pop culture info mostly. -- ZooBlazertalk 23:52, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ZooBlazer I'll see what I can do. This is definitely a task that usually isn't in my caliber, but I think I can be pretty good at trimming. I'll also try to ease your burden by replacing it with better quality sources. I looked at the FAR and see if I can try to align the article more in line with the advice stated there. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:56, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can do some trimming too, so you don't have to worry about doing it all, but I just realized the reception section needs work and that's my biggest weakness on articles. -- ZooBlazertalk 01:05, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'll move the biography to my sandbox and we can work on it there to decide what should stay or go -- ZooBlazertalk 01:09, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Make sure it's synced to my latest edit, I already went ahead and did a preliminary trim. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 01:16, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, it's synced at my sandbox -- ZooBlazertalk 01:19, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Avengers (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is already being GA reviewed. So if it passes, it'll just be the production article and IW accolades left before an Avengers good topic I think -- ZooBlazertalk 15:44, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good, I'll also hover over it and try to also help out by implementing changes so that it can be a GA soon. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 15:52, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. It's a non MCU expert, which is best case scenario to help clean up things that may be confusing for regular people. -- ZooBlazertalk 15:54, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't go great... work to do I guess. -- ZooBlazertalk 15:12, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Alright no worries, I'll get started on it pronto. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:24, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also I think it's best if a sandbox is created for the article. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:31, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll move it to the Thanos sandbox that we've been using. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:34, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really confused about the biography stuff because it's basically the opposite of everything I was told during the Thanos GA review. I guess we can just start by cleaning it up and shortening it a bit.
Also just nominated the production article for GA with Favre"s permission. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:33, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Alright that's good that the Production article was nominated for GA. I'm also slightly confused by the GA review for the Avengers article. It seems the reviewer's primary issues were with the lead section and moreso prose issues. Either way, I'll also do the same thing and begin with a quick ce of the biography. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:43, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I'm confused by the review too. Just address what we can and go from there I guess -- ZooBlazertalk 18:03, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'm gonna temporarily stop focusing on the Thanos article and focus on getting Avengers to GA. I'm waiting for the Blip to go through the GA process before I work on Thanos more. I also realized that getting the first 3 phases to GA should allow for three more Good Topics, so I'll probably work on those too since I'm already a top contributor for all three. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:13, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have some potential refs to expand the Avengers article's cultural impact section. I still need to look through the info before adding it, but I'll probably add it soon.
I also moved the info for Phase One to User:ZooBlazer/sandbox if you're interested in working on it when you have time. Not a big deal if you're not interested. All it needs is a written reception section (written similarly to the Phase Four article) and any additional development info that's available. I have some articles for the reception (probably use a few from the talk page) and I think the development shouldn't be too bad. Start by looking at each film in the phase and go from there. For now I'm only gonna do the first 3 phases and then turn them all into good topics (hopefully) with each phase's movies. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:07, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Feel free to send me the refs so I can go through it. I think moving info from Phase 1 into the Avengers article is a great idea and while I am planning on working on the Andor episode articles, so I'll try to occasionally help out and pitch in. It's a big task to make the MCU phases good topics. Just out of curiosity, how many MCU films are good articles now? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 21:33, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wait a minute, I understood some of it wrong. Just out of curiosity, what's going on with the Avengers stuff? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 21:38, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Avengers stuff is separate from the phases. I was just saying that I have some stuff to address one of the issues from the Avengers GA review. So that's getting closer to a renomination.
Good Topics are easy with the first 3 phases since all those movies are GAs, so just getting the phases to GA is needed. In total all phase 1-3 movies are GA, and phase 4 has Black Widow as of yesterday along with WandaVision and its episodes. The Good topics would be divided up like this.
On a side note, WandaVision could become a Good Topic eventually too once Favre nominates the accolades for a Featured List. Wanda and Vision's articles may also need to be GA, but I'm not positive. Otherwise it'll be the main WandaVision article, each episode, and the accolades as the topic. -- ZooBlazertalk 22:41, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I'll see what I'll be able to do for the MCU phase articles when I can. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 23:00, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think most of the main issues from the failed GA have been addressed for Avengers (Marvel Cinematic Universe). From a quick look at the review, I think all that's left before a renom is redo the lead and see if we can find any additional info to include in the Concept and creation after 2010. I'm not sure what the reviewer wanted, so I guess maybe get info from the other 3 Avengers movies about characters other than the original 6? Oh, looks like some refs may need to be replaced if possible with more reliable sources. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:09, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer I'm planning on actually pivoting back to Avengers for the meantime as I'm going to integrate in information from the Ultron, IW and Endgame films so that content can be included on their expansion, division, and disbandment. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 01:02, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, congrats on your GA!
integrate in information from the Ultron, IW and Endgame films - Sounds good. I copied over background info for each film to my Thanos sandbox and I'm working on shortening the info before adding it to the Avengers article. -- ZooBlazertalk 02:17, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Thanks a lot! It's my first GA! Now with that being said, that sounds great. I'll look over it and edit in the sandbox before adding it in the main article. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 02:24, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget to nominate your GA article for DYK in the next week.
I've edited down the AoU info and started the IW/Endgame info. Once the info is trimmed, then ce will be needed and the info will need to be organized so it all makes sense together. -- ZooBlazertalk 02:30, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you give me the link to the sandbox? Also, I'll see about trying to get it into DYK, it's not the most urgent thing in my To-Do list rn. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 02:32, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:ZooBlazer/Thanos
Mostly just bringing up DYK because you have a week from today to submit it, otherwise you're out of luck for that article. -- ZooBlazertalk 02:39, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh that's an excellent sandbox! I'll work on it! Dcdiehardfan (talk) 02:57, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, the info has been moved over to the article. I think it's almost ready to be re-nominated. Just have to redo the lead and maybe expand the reception if possible. -- ZooBlazertalk 20:53, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Excellent, I personally would also suggest you should also integrate info from Civil War, sorry for not mentioning this earlier. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 21:36, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, yeah. I'll do that. Also just realized there are a bunch of

WP:DUPLINKS that need cleaned up in the article even before the info I just added. It's hard to keep track of links on articles like this. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:45, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply

I added the necessary Civil War info to my sandbox, so I'll work on trimming and ce before adding it to the article. -- ZooBlazertalk 21:59, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You interested in breaking up long quotes/paraphrasing that info? There are a couple refs that are sorta high for copyright because of the quotes being so long.
The quotes in question: #1 #2 #3 #4 -- ZooBlazertalk 04:20, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I think I'm pretty good when it comes to trimming down long quotes and paraphrasing them. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:23, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also @ZooBlazer I wanted to ask you, would you be interested in going through FATWS again, this time going for nominating each episode article 1 by 1? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:30, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For sure. I only stopped working on the articles because I didn't want to do them by myself.
Looks like I still have a bunch of potential sources that we could use -- ZooBlazertalk 04:37, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful! I think that can be my next big item on the to-do list as I don't really have any big objectives planned as of now. With that being said, do you think Episode 1 is good for a GAN yet? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 05:23, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah once I get the Avengers page re-nominated I'll focus on FATWS.
I think the last thing is to clean up the lead. According to the GA review it's currently:
Paragraph 1: Their roles in the MCU, The inspiration behind their creation, What they do/where they live in their films
Paragraph 2: The first time they appeared in film and their subsequent appearances in film, Commercial success of said films, The characters within the team, Their roles within the MCU, Their (critical?) reception, Appearances by the Avengers in other universes in television
Paragraph 3: Critical reception of the characters, Their impact in theme parks, Future appearances in film
And they recommended:
Paragraph 1: In-universe aspects and relevant context, including, but not necessarily limited to: Appearances in media, Roles within the MCU, Members of the team
Paragraph 2: Conception, casting and any other bits about the creation of the group
Paragraph 3: Reception, including the critical response, cultural impact, commercial success and any important analysis
They excluded the future appearances info, which that needs to be included for sure. Beyond that what do you think? -- ZooBlazertalk 07:10, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I agree with what the GAR asserted. The first para should obviously contain in-universe aspects, appearances, members, etc, second should summarize their development, writing, casting, and real-world production info, and third should summarize reception. I think there could definitely be an expansion in Critical Response and probably Themes, as that seems to be a bit barebones as of now. I can work doing reception stuff if you would like. Also, ik I'm going in a roundabout fashion, but do you believe that
Beloved is ready for mainspace. I deliberately didn't fully finish up reception yet as I obviously have more ambitious plan, but I'll get back to it when I can. For now, I still got good writing and filming info for it I think. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 07:21, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply
]
Moved it to mainspace. -- ZooBlazertalk 07:56, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ended up with 2 paragraphs in the lead instead of 3. Not sure what the most important missing info to include is. -- ZooBlazertalk 08:12, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@
WP:BOLD
, I'll allow you to modify it as needed so you can insert it in one edit. It's definitely rudimentary and I think there could be some overlap too, so that obviously needs to be addressed. Feel free to make any comments:
Following Avi Arad's, head of the Marvel film decision, decision to form Marvel Studios as an independent film studio, producer Kevin Feige envisioned creating a shared universe and introducing the Avengers, similar to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's comic books in the 1960s. After Feige became studio chief in 2007 and formed his creative team, his strategy had been to create individual films focused on the major characters for Phase One, beginning with Iron Man (2008) and culminating with The Avengers (2011). Following The Avengers' financial and critical success, a sequel, Age of Ultron, was subsequently developed, introducing new members to the team. Then, Captain America: Civil War was gradually developed into being a film being influenced from the "Civil War" storyline, depicting the division of the Avengers. Eventually, a two-part finale was developed with the intention of concluding the Infinity Saga, and serving as a conclusion for the Avengers' story by depicting their disbandment. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great work. I mixed thet info in. Now there are three paragraphs again, but the third one is short. The focus is:
Reception, including the critical response, cultural impact, commercial success and any important analysis and currently says:
The four Avengers films are currently the sixth highest-grossing film franchise of all time, grossing more than US$7.7 billion. The Avengers have received praise as a group from critics, with Endgame called a perfect conclusion for that iteration of the team. Due to their popularity, Avengers Campus, a series of attractions at various Disney Parks, opened in June 2021 at Disney California Adventure.
At the very least, I'd assume we should probably include something additional for reception other than just the conclusion. And I guess expand on the cultural impact beyond the parks/Avengers Campus?
Any other suggestions? -- ZooBlazertalk 17:53, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Yea, outside of more Reception expansion, I don't see anything else. Oh wait, also, we should add some casting info into the second para, don't forget that. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 18:49, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added additional info to paragraph 3. Do you want to add the casting info? I'm not sure what the best way of doing it is. Just the original 6? All the ones listed on the team roster table? -- ZooBlazertalk 19:44, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll give a go at it, the OG members like Iron Man and Cap should definitely be mentioned, and couple of sentences dedicated for reprising members and the casting of Wanda and Quicksilver I think. It's definitely great that you added that the MCU set a strong precedent for other film studios to create their own cinematic shared universes, particularly WB. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 19:47, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Alright, I gave an edit. Let me know what you think Dcdiehardfan (talk) 19:58, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. I just need to add some additional sources to the biography to support the first party refs and then I think I can renominate it. Hopefully it goes better this time. Thanks for your help. Now it's pretty much down to Adam finishing his ce of the production article so that can be nominated and getting someone to nominate the IW accolades list. -- ZooBlazertalk 20:07, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you want me to add you as a co-nominator since you pretty significantly helped out? -- ZooBlazertalk 20:52, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Absolutely! I'm happy to help out and am very glad to work with you also. And no, adding me as a co-nominator is not necessary as you have done a lot more work on the article and should thus have the privilege of spearheading the process. I think the best idea for adding more refs in bio would prolly be to draw from sources that recap the films or something like that, but frankly, I think your edit will suffice. I'll also monitor the GAR and I'm also crossing my fingers that it goes good. Has the image stuff been addressed? I think there was an issue with that in the previous GAR. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 21:03, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added you as co-nominator anyway. You don't actually have to do anything, but it makes it easier if you want to help with the review changes. There was never a real issue with the images, but I updated the FUR info for the two screenshots -- ZooBlazertalk 21:10, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright that's cool. I put the Avengers page on my watchlist and will hopefully be able to swiftly implement any GAR changes. Another big concern I think with sources. I'll be working on that right now, meaning that once this message is posted, I'll be editing. I'll go in and take a lot at the refs and get some good sources. GA progress

The Avengers conversation is long so I figured I'd break it up for other topics.

Anyway, do you want to work on the FATWS episodes first, or maybe the first three phase articles since we know more of what's needed to prep? Like phase one just needs reception. Maybe more development info if we find any. The other two are probably similar.

Or even more out there, the Special Presentations? Like phase four movies, they're probably closer to ready than some episode articles. I'm down for just about anything since most of these things are on my very long to do list anyway. -- ZooBlazertalk 23:49, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ZooBlazer Alright sounds good. I would personally like to focus on FATWS as of now, and I'll workshop the Reception for the MCU Phase articles later. I think I'll occasionally drop by on film, as I believe adamstom is doing a good job at that so yea. Doing the Special Presentations would also be cool, starting off with Werewolf by Night. That actually could potentially be next if we can help promote FATWS articles so yea. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 23:53, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good.
So my guess for things needed for episode one are:
  • Expand development if possible
  • Flesh out the casting section if possible
  • Add any additional filming and VFX info if it's not all included.
I think writing is good and we could probably add aome sort of images in the body of the text like the WandaVision episodes. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:07, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Feel free to input comments in the actual episode article talk page. I'll see if I can create a Development template for the FATWS episodes, although I mostly think the SQUO is ok. Casting seems to cover all the bases, and I'll look for any filming/VFX info to integrate into the article. I'm not experienced when it comes to inserting images and whatnot, so I'll leave that up to you. I'll start looking for additional filming/VFX info right now to see what else there is. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:14, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Time to gain experience with the Good Topic process with the Thanos topic. With how big the MCU is, we definitely need some GTs/FTs. I think the obvious ones besides Thanos are: Avengers, the Phases, and the individual Disney+ series. I'm sure there could be others like if Draft:Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel Cinematic Universe) ever makes it to the mainspace and becomes a GA. -- ZooBlazertalk 03:51, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer I guess I'll also tag along for the ride. I'll make sure to link this page here for reference [1]. Also just a thought for the Avengers article, wouldn't it be better to put the Content Creation stuff before the Fictional Biography? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 03:55, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was determined that the biography should be listed first during the Spidey failed GA -- ZooBlazertalk 04:00, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh I see. Alright, then with that being said, I think we can leave those two matters to rest right as it will take some time for people to pick up reviewing those things? In the meantime, should we fully focus on FATWS or something? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:04, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll probably primarily focus on FATWS and work on the Phases on the side. I'm just bad about finding useful info for specific episodes.
Oh, I saw your DYK. Just some pointers: Make sure to change the section at the top of the DYK wizard to "promoted to GA" next time. Also the fact should link to the topic article and the article should be Bold
Here are WandaVision episode DYK reviews for examples. #1 and #2. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:08, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I think I improved the shape of my DYK. Now with that being said, I think I'll also focus mainly on FATWS and have other projects balanced on my side plates. Right now, I think episode 1 is in very good shape though. I'll wait for either Favre and/or adam's approval before proceeding to the next episode, as I want to get it all done on a one-by-one basis obviously Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:30, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After FATWS is complete, want to work with me to get the 4 Avengers movies to Featured articles? -- ZooBlazertalk 04:59, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, took a quick look through the refs I had saved and found a few episode specific ones for later. This covers vfx in a couple episodes including 2 and 4 [2] This one also applies to episode 2 [3]

Alright I can now commit 100% to FATWS. Just spent today trying to deal with the DYK for Black Widow because it was the last day for it to be nominated and I didn't want it to be the first (I think) MCU movie to not have one. -- ZooBlazertalk 00:02, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Wonderful! I think the ball on the first episode article is slowly rolling as adam said that he's also free to start committing more time! Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:04, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Having his help will be very useful since he already has experience with nominating MCU episodes for GA, not that we wouldn't have figured it out ourselves -- ZooBlazertalk 00:09, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer For sure haha. Yea, he's nominated over 72 GAs, so his experience will definitely help us out a lot here as he knows how this works. But with that being said, I look forward to getting ready. This is easily my biggest project to date so I hope it goes well. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 00:39, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just happy that we're starting make some progress in the Phase Four backlog. We were all caught up through Phase Three, but beyond WandaVision nothing was fully committed to for the other projects until Black Widow and now FATWS. -- ZooBlazertalk 01:11, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I lied. I keep forgetting about the production article, which is so close to ready for a GAN, so I should probably try to work on that before focusing entirely on FATWS. I guess I didn't read Adam's message on the talk page all the way through saying what was needed still. -- ZooBlazertalk 02:13, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Yea, I didn't forget about the production article, but I kind of put that on the backburner. I was wondering if someone had as of yet expanded the article by integrating more Endgame-centric writing content. I see that I don't think anyone has done it as of this message. Hopefully in regards to that matter, that's the big last Herculean effort that'll hopefully allow the Production article to finally be ready for GA, as I believe that's primarily what adam was wanting for a GAN. As school is starting, it'll be difficult for me to contribute and edit as diligently as I have been these past few months, but that'll be ok, as there are still the sources that can be integrated. At some point, I'll get around to adding the content if no one else has done it yet, as I've also taken other smaller tasks upon myself, like improving Reception. Either way, good luck on working on that, I'll try to ease the burden and assist with FATWS in the meantime. Divide and conquer seems to be effective. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 02:35, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like what's needed are Endgame story details which should be easy, info on more characters in the story arc section, and more cinematography. I'll probably start working on the story stuff and see if I can find anything to help with the other 2 issues.
Oh, and good luck with school! -- ZooBlazertalk 02:43, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Thanks! Ping me back whenever you have made edits for more writing content. I'll also try to help out to fill in the missing stuff, and recently just did some editing on Ep 3 of FATWS. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 03:34, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just added the first bit of Endgame story info. -- ZooBlazertalk 04:08, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nice nice, keep up the good work. I'll leave you to it. I also just did a preliminary edit of Ep 4 of FATWS. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:11, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great work on also doing the Obi-Wan reception. If you ever have time/get bored, the first three MCU phases need reception and I'm finding it hard to write since reception writing is probably my Wikipedia weakness. -- ZooBlazertalk 07:01, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Thanks. Reception writing is also a bit of my weak points, but I think I'm getting better at it. My biggest issue with the MCU Phase receptions is the fact that it'll be difficult finding sources however. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 16:30, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sources are tough. I found some potential refs for Phase one. There are also some possible options on the Phase two talk page, but I'm not sure how many are helpful for reception. Just looking at Phase four, it doesn't seem to have to be specifically about the Phase as a whole the whole time, as Phase four has commentary for specific movies and shows as well.
I was responsible for reception for episodes of MCU shows before you started working on them and it was rough, but sometimes it was the only thing left to get the articles moved to mainspace. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:09, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Alright thanks a lot for the Phase 1 refs. I think now that you've given me something to work with, I'll be able to at least get Phase 1 done, or somewhat. I'll obviously try and use Phase 4 for precedent, but there are some unique circumstances with Phase 4 that allows it to generate more commentary, such as hiring more auteur (ish) figures like Sam Raimi and Chloe Zhao for films, Eternals being the first Rotten rated film, DS2 and Eternals gaining lower scores, and the D+ shows. Regardless, I think also getting refs for Phase 2 and 3 would help me out a lot in getting Reception ready. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:15, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, if you're willing to attempt writing up the receptions, I can focus on trying to help find more refs that can be used. -- ZooBlazertalk 17:35, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer That would help. I just now came out of an edit and inserted some reception content for Phase One. I think it'll do for now, but it definitely needs some CE. I'm starting to notice some common threads, as reviews (rightly I think) consistently highlight Phase 1 being bookended by strong installments and RDJ's casting usually. The other big issue with the Phase 1 article is that the refs aren't fully LDR'd yet, but that's alright, I've LDR'd articles before so it won't be that bad. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 18:45, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great work. I added refs for the other two phases in the same place as I had some for the first phase.
I'll work on the ce of the article today, as well as dealing with the refs that aren't list defined. Thanks for dealing with the reception! -- ZooBlazertalk 18:49, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Excellent and no worries. I'll try to incorporate them into their corresponding articles soon. I added your page to my watchlist so I can get back to it. Good work. I'll also use  Done to make the sources I've used. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 19:00, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I took care of the development info for Phase One that was needed. Now I think the last thing needed according to Adam on the talk page is comparing Phase One to the later Phases in the reception section -- ZooBlazertalk 07:51, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Hmm, alright, that'll be difficult. We'll just slowly have to build out Reception from the ground-up because Phase 4 is the only one that has a fully developed Reception section. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 02:54, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We just need some sources talking about the phases and hopefully the differences between them, not entire reception sections for the other phases yet. -- ZooBlazertalk 03:01, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer Sorry for the late response, but what exactly do you mean the differences between phases? Like more info clearly delineating the start and end of the phases? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 04:10, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just going off what Adam said on the talk page: If we could add any more reception that specifically compares Phase One to the later Phases then that also would be good I think -- ZooBlazertalk 04:52, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh I see. That'll be a bit harder but perhaps I can imagine P2 reviews comparing it to P1 though, maybe, so it could also be reverse engineered from there. Also, it could also be noted that some sources retrospectively call P1 as being among the best, though it's not specific. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 06:06, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's an absolute necessity to include if there aren't many sources. Unless Adam has more specific info he's looking for -- ZooBlazertalk 06:16, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the really late responses, I'm busy with school as you can tell. With that being said, I'll prolly begin by first finishing up P1 and just progress from there, doing standalone reviews and then more additional sittings for comparison commentary. I believe since I can only sporadically edit, someone should go ahead and incorporate them. Can you just ping me and repost the link again as it'll take time for me to find the link again Dcdiehardfan (talk) 03:58, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I hope school is going well. I haven't been active for the last week as I've been busy too. Is this the link you're looking for? -- ZooBlazertalk 16:14, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ZooBlazer I appreciate it and also hope things are going well for you, and yes it is. Thanks! Dcdiehardfan (talk) 17:50, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Breaking Bad (Better Call Saul)

On 24 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Breaking Bad (Better Call Saul), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that for the Better Call Saul episode "Breaking Bad", writer and director Thomas Schnauz filmed the cameos of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman seven months before the main production? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Breaking Bad (Better Call Saul). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Breaking Bad (Better Call Saul)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

RoySmith (talk) 00:02, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article Waterworks (Better Call Saul) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Waterworks (Better Call Saul) for comments about the article, and Talk:Waterworks (Better Call Saul)/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Proper ref attributing

Hey, with your edit here on the Loki S2E4 draft, can you put the ref tag that supports each sentence explicitly after it. Having that many sentences attributed to both the THR and Variety article at the end of it all can't really fly when it's likely the info you had in each sentence is from only one of those articles. But if it combines info from both then both tags should be used. I don't have the time at the moment to go through either reference so figured since you added it you could probably do it quickly. Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:22, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Favre1fan93 No worries, I was just quickly compiling all the information. Of course, I will go back and finish the edit in addition to adding more content as I prep it for the mainspace. It will just take some time is all. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 18:20, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great, no worries! Just wanted to flag it. Thanks for all the adds you come in with on the MCU pages! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:38, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Favre1fan93 No worries man. I plan on hopefully helping move Loki S2 episode articles into the mainspace over this winter break. I'm curious with what has happened with the other MCU articles, particularly how has the GAN process been going for the joint Production article for IW and EG? Dcdiehardfan (talk) 19:48, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It has been nominated but no one has started the review. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:31, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the GA process can be very slow, especially for long articles since they tend to scare some potential reviewers away. -- ZooBlazer 03:10, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Right, but the good thing I guess is that it leaves a lot of time to have any last minute touch ups before the actual review. Either way, now that I'm back, I'll see how other MCU articles have been faring during this time. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 18:50, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I notice you have made changes to this GAN article recently. As the initial task set by the reviewer was to check for close paraphrasing before the other issues were addressed, I'd appreciate it if you could not continue with any more edits at present. The process of checking the sources in Ukrainian and Russian is time consuming, and it's easier if, as nominator, I am left to get on with it. Thanks, Amitchell125 (talk) 08:52, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Amitchell125 Hey there! Yea no worries, I'll try to ofc refrain from too editing but like to help out with a bit of the basic stuff like grammar here and there where I can, so my apologies. Either way, I think it's all worked out well as the article has passed so congrats with that! Dcdiehardfan (talk) 22:36, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
