I have noted your changes in the article on the Kingdom of Kongo and references to matrilineal succession, and also to the chibadi. Please note that I am proposing to remove a good deal of this, and I want you to see this first. The institution you refer to relates to South East Africa, specifically Mwenemutapa and surrounding kingdoms in today's Mozambique and Zimbabwe. They do not relate to the Kingdom of Kongo. You do have a reference to Antonio de Oliveira de Cadornega's book, which is about kibanda in the Kimbundu-speaking portions of today's Angola. However, this institution was not reported in the Kingdom of Kongo, and I have no reason to believe it existed there. There is a discussion of the kibanda in Angola (Kimbundu region) and in Brazil in James Sweet's book Recreating Africa, this is a well documented treatment of the subject. Heya,

do we really need these excessively long lists of "Today part of"? While it's nice that you compiled the information (and it's mostly complete, too), it creates disproportionally large infobox sections esp. for the biger empires like Rome or Byzantium. It looks ugly, and when the list of states becomes the longest item in the box, it kind of defeats the purpose of those infoboxes.

At least I'd suggest dropping the flags and just listing the names in a simple enumeration - "Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia..." and so on.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but please also consider the looks and due weight of these lists. :)
