  • Oh wow, I completely forgot this existed. This was a link to the former page for the English dub back when 4Kids had the license. People often referred to it as "Dub Piece" due to how edited it was, and anyone active in the One Piece fandom in those years probably knows about 4Kids' notoriety there. But I don't think anyone uses that anymore and 4Kids hasn't had the license in over a decade so if you want to delete it, I don't care anymore. Matty-chan (talk) 13:32, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

These redirects go to NHL season that due to strike or COVID-19, were only played in the year listed at the redirect; however, for all of these seasons, there also exists a season that was started later in the year specified, making these redirects potentially ambiguous. For example, the 1994–95 NHL season took place only in 1995; however, there was also the 1995–96 NHL season, which did begin in 1995. The same goes for 2013 and 2021. I was taking this to RfD to see if this should stay as is or turn into a DAB page. There are hat notes at the respective articles already. TartarTorte 20:51, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While Titin does have a long name, titles such as this feel quite excessive and not likely to be searched to this length (255 characters). Outcomes such as the pi redirects come to mind as past precedent. Even if the title may be technically accurate (although most of the protein's name is cut off due to limitations), we wouldn't include 255 digits of pi as a redirect "just because it's accurate", because it's not common to do so. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:45, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I highly doubt anyone will ever type that long name into a search engine. Govvy (talk) 11:08, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, harmless. —Kusma (talk) 11:23, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete While the chemical name of titin has some notoriety as supposedly the longest word in English (even though no one really uses it), this is not the chemical name of titin as given here - [1], nor is the sequence same as here - [2] (the sequence should start MTTQAPTF, while this sequence starts MTTQRYES). I have no idea what the sequence is, it could be nonsense, therefore delete. Hzh (talk) 16:49, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as Hzh notes, this is not the sequence for any isoform of human or mouse titin; only the first four amino acids match (of ~34000 total). It's nonsensical to search for proteins this way, and anyone trying this is likely not interested in reading about titin. Besides, if this is kept it would suggest that all proteins should be searchable by their sequence on Wikipedia either spelt out like this or by short forms (i.e.
    WP:PANDORA). ― Synpath 17:10, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply
    ]
For interest: I ran a search of the SwissProt database and the sequence here most closely matches various TrpA proteins (~90%), which is listed as the "longest published word" at Longest word in English. ― Synpath 17:42, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The sequence does not appear to be in any database, so it does not matter if it is related to TrpA or not. It could be something made up by someone, and if it exists then it would be a very obscure one, and no one will search this term. Hzh (talk) 09:22, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Having looked into it, I'm now pretty certain that this is a nonsense sequence. Someone simply used the starting sequence for titin, then attached part of the sequence for TrpA (sequence may be found here - https://jeff560.tripod.com/words13.html ), and came up with the above sequence. It's just something someone made up, so it needs to be deleted. Hzh (talk) 00:10, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The ellipsis in the middle of the word seems to make this an implausible search term. Admittedly, Titin is known for its extremely long scientific name, but utilizing exactly the first 41 characters, followed by an ellipsis plus the remaining 10 characters, does not seem to be very plausible way of searching. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:35, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nom comment, the name also appears to be a misspelling, because the longer version (that is also implausible) redirect uses "larginyl" before where the ellipsis would be, instead of the lalanyl here. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:50, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The "alanyl" is correct, "arginyl" is wrong. Hzh (talk) 17:07, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete implausible search as the insertion of ellipses is arbitrary in addition to the sequence being ambiguous. While I won't search for any examples I guarantee the sequence MTTQA*I matches many other proteins. ― Synpath 17:14, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Green Gully Reserve, is a large area, not just a stadium, which can be multi-use, but it incorporates other clubs and has a very large park area. Per the links I posted at AfD. So why Liz followed the illogical consensus and didn't relist, I fail to see some common-sense from other users at the article AfD. But the correct redirect should have been to Keilor Downs, Victoria and not a football club article. It also required a merge of content too Keilor Downs which has yet to be done. Govvy (talk) 09:52, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Govvy it sounds like you are principally contesting the outcome of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Green Gully Reserve. If so then you are at the wrong venue, you want Wikipedia:Deletion review. Thryduulf (talk) 09:56, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@
Green Gully Reserve should be kept as a park article know. Because the park side is far larger than where the stadium and clubs are located. Not enough people took part in the AfD discussion for me to established a decent consensus, I do feel I've been fighting a loosing battle over the article and I did have a go at trying to make it somewhat better. No encyclopedic value, this is just a quote from a comment made about the video and is not even some unique observation about the video. Sohom (talk) 09:45, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Leaning keep. This specific comment seems to be uniquely associated to this specific event with every hit on the first three pages of google results being related to it. It seems to have become a meme of sorts. Thryduulf (talk) 10:00, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong keep. This word-for-word phrase is heavily associated with the Austin American-Statesman video. It was even mentioned in an MSNBC broadcast discussing that video. XTheBedrockX (talk) 13:52, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not from the United States and was unaware of this rather weird "meme". I understand that the phrasing is currently being associated with the widely circulated video. However, I wonder if redirect might confuse people who are not in on the joke/meme, since this phrasing might be used in outside of the american political system (for example, a normal school commercial might contain such a disclaimer when depicting (say) children playing in the football field). Sohom (talk) 21:04, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Sohom Datta There is no joke, and I'm not sure where you got this impression. It's a notable phrase associated with a grim event (and emblematic, for some people, about the lack of safety American children have from gun violence). It seems highly unlikely that someone specifically searching this phrase on English Wikipedia would be looking for a "normal school commercial". XTheBedrockX (talk) 21:22, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@XTheBedrockX The first few Google search hits include links to shops selling this catch-phrase as merchandise, that along with the previous mentions of "meme" which I tend to associate with a joke (even if it is a sarcastic one) made me assume that this phrase was being viewed from that point of view. I am deeply sorry (and apologize) if that hurt your feelings on the matter.
That being said, I do disagree that this phrasing is intrinsically linked to the video since it seems to heavily assume that everyone is familiar with the ongoing issues in America. I will agree to disagree with you on this point for now and let the RfD run it's course though :) Sohom (talk) 21:55, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, this was in fact the reason why I created these redirects. Thanks for fixing. I have created a new set of redirects with the proper spelling now. Regarding the old redirects, I think there is a better solution than to delete them, see below. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 18:15, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, but add R from misspelling. Since the Roman and Cyrillic letter look identical in many fonts, I don't think the misspelling is all too implausible - occasionally users might pick up the improper mixed spelling somewhere (like I did) and enter it into our search engine. It is better to still forward them to the correct article and educate them about the proper spelling than to come up blank as if we won't have contents about the topic. We also have a dedicated Rcat for this purpose: {{R from misspelling}}. Applying it to these redirects will even allow bots to automatically correct this would someone use the wrong spelling in articles. I have therefore applied the Rcat to the redirects in question. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 18:15, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
