This is a notice to let you know about
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

WP 1.0 bot announcement
This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the
Pashtun articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Pashtun articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

I've combed through the parent cat Category:Pashtun tribes today and made sure that every article had the WPPashtun tag. The subcats still need to be gone through, but at least the main cat is knocked out. MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:39, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Move Chhachi (Pashtun) to Chhachi Pashtuns?
Question: does "Chhachi" refer to anyone from Chhach, Pathan or no? If so, a clearer title might be Chhachi Pashtuns or maybe better yet Pashtuns in Chhach to make it clear the article is about "Pathans who happen to live in Chhach" as opposed to "a Pashtun tribe called the Chhachi". The title and lede just need to be clearer as to whether this is a specific tribe, or Pashtuns in general addressed by geography. MatthewVanitas (talk) 18:31, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

WikiWomen's History Month
Hi everyone. March is Women's History Month and I'm hoping a few folks here at WP:Pashtun will have interest in putting on events (on and off wiki) related to women's roles in within Pashtun society. We've created an event page on English Wikipedia (please translate!) and I hope you'll find the inspiration to participate. These events can take place off wiki, like edit-a-thons, or on wiki, such as themes and translations. Please visit the page here:
Nomination of Landi Khana for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Landi Khana until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Cheers.
New article Najabat Khan
The article Ghorghushti had a misplaced series of paragraphs all about Najabat Khan, so I split them off to be their own article. It turns out there's tons of coverage of him, founder of the Nawabs of Kunjpura and whatnot. The initial article had some misleading (or maybe even wrong) facts, so it could use some checking and sourcing, and hopefully there's a portrait of him out there somewhere. So if anyone wants to work on an article about an adventurer and later ruler of an area in Haryana, here's a good chance. MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:16, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c1/WikiProject_X_icon.svg/100px-WikiProject_X_icon.svg.png)
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Pashto speaker needed
Hi, would someone be able to review Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Syed_Soleman_Shah? It looks like a hoax but many of the provided references are PDF scans in Pashto, so not really possible for non-speakers to review. Thanks. Fish+Karate 14:34, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool
Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.
We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

New Page Patrol
![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/57/Wikipedia_New_page_reviewer.svg/100px-Wikipedia_New_page_reviewer.svg.png)
- New Page Patrol needs experienced volunteers
- New Page Patrolis currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles, including Pashtun related articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
- If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions and review our instructions page. You can apply for the user-right HERE. --John B123 (talk) 14:31, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Please check and approve article
Dear Sir/Madam,
I respectfully request your assistance in reviewing my draft article, Draft:Mughal Khel. As a sub-tribe of the Yousafzai, the Mughal Khels are unique in that they are the only Yousafzai tribe residing in Southern Pakhtunkhwa, where they speak a soft version of Pashto. They are based in Bannu and their history and cultural practices have been documented in various online sources and books.
It is my hope that by writing this article, I can contribute to the knowledge base about the Yousafzai tribe and highlight their rich tradition of migration and cultural diversity. I would greatly appreciate your guidance and support in ensuring that the information is accurate and suitable for submission on Wikipedia.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely, 18:12, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Isparki — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isparki (talk • contribs)
