Zvika Michael Klein (Hebrew: צביקה קליין, born 1982) is an Israeli-American journalist and the editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post. Additionally, he is socially active in the field of Israel's relationship with the Jewish diaspora, and covers the topic for the Jerusalem Post and Maariv. Previously, he covered the Jewish world at the Makor Rishon newspaper for a decade.
Additionally, Klein served as the advisor for Diaspora Affairs to the President of Israel.
Biography
Zvika is one of three children born in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles and Beverly Klein. Like his parents, he was raised in the local Bnei Akiva youth movement, where they became attached to Zionism and eventually chose to move to Israel in 1985. In Israel, Klein continued to attend Bnei Akiva activities, and eventually became a counselor in the movement.

Klein holds a BA in social sciences from the Open University of Israel.
Professional career
Between 2005-2006 Klein served as a Bnei Akiva and Jewish Agency for Israel emissary to southern Florida. He then headed the World Zionist Organization's 'Ben Ami' program until 2009. At the same time, and until 2011, Klein was the spokesperson for the World Bnei Akiva youth movement.
Between 2011-2022 he was the correspondent and commentator on Jewish affairs for the Makor Rishon newspaper.
From 2012-2014 Klein also acted as the editor of the NRG Judaism website, as well as the Jewish affairs correspondent for the Maariv newspaper.
In 2012 Klein was among the first journalists to arrive at the scene of the terror attack at the 'Otzar HaTorah' school in Toulouse, France. He also covered the violent protests at Kyiv's Maidan Nezalezhnosti square during the Ukrainian regime change.
During 2014 Klein was the editor of the Israeli TV show 'The Surfing Jew' on Channel 20. Between 2018-2019 he managed the 'Community' program's alumni network on behalf of the President of Israel, working to connect Israeli opinion leaders to the Jewish Diaspora.
In February 2022 Klein began writing for The Jerusalem Post, and on August 8, 2022 he was named deputy editor. In December 2023 Klein was appointed Editor in Chief of the paper[1].
Awards and recognition
During his career, Klein has won multiple awards and prizes, including:
- The 2013 and 2019 B'nei B'rith prize for outstanding coverage of Diaspora Jewry in the Israeli media
- The JDC 2014 Smolar Journalism Award
- Listed in 2015 by the Algemeiner Journal in its Top 100 People Positively Influencing Jewish Life[2]
- Named 2018 'Man of the Year' by the My Israel grassroots organization, for his series of personal interviews with outstanding Jews around the world
Notable reports
In 2015, Klein's article, titled "10 hours of fear and loathing in Paris" became viral, and his video, showing a 10-hour walk in Paris wearing a Kippah, received millions of views[3]
