My name is 16PalaceStreet. I am the PR Manager of 3i Group and I have established a Wikipedia account to help improve the 3i and 3i Infrastructure articles in line with Wikipedia's standards and guidelines. Please could I request that the information below is added to 3i Infrastructure's page to give more up to date information about 3i Infrastructure's portfolio? The information is factual and neutral in tone and I have added sources for the information. I look forward to working with you and please let me know if you have any questions via my talk page. Portfolio

At 31 March 2022 3i Infrastructure had a portfolio of 18 assets valued at £3.2 billion. These include twelve investments in economic infrastructure businesses and six investments in public-private partnership projects.[1]

The portfolio comprises:[2]

·        ESVAGT – a provider of safety and support services at sea, headquartered in Denmark.

·        Infinis – a British generator of low carbon power from captured methane.

·        Global Cloud Xchange – a provider of network services for enterprises, new media providers and telecoms carriers. 3i Infrastructure announced its commitment to invest Global Cloud Xchange on 17 November 2021 and the investment is due to complete in summer 2022.

·        TCR International - a ground support equipment (GSE) supplier to airlines, airports, ground handlers and cargo handlers, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

·        Tampnet – an offshore communication network provider headquartered in Norway.

·        Joulz – a provider of energy infrastructure equipment and services in the Netherlands.

·        Ionisos – a French owner and operator of cold sterilisation facilities.

·        Oystercatcher -  the holding company through which 3i Infrastructure holds a 45% interest in Advario Singapore (previously Oiltaking Singapore Limited), a 1.3 million cubic metre facility focused on storage and blending of refined clear petroleum products.[3][4]

·        DNS:NET – a German broadband service provider.

·        SRL Traffic Systems – a UK manufacturer and supplier of temporary traffic systems.

·        Valorem – a renewable energy operator headquartered in Bordeaux, France.

·        Attero – a recycling and energy-from-waste company headquartered in the Netherlands.

·        Projects – portfolio of four Dutch and two French public-private partnership projects across transport and social infrastructure.[5]

 Partly done: Added some more details on ownership percentage for the Oiltanking facilities, but "oystercatcher" wasn't mentioned in the sources, and the oiltanking name change/subsequent venture article doesn't mention 3i, so it did not seem relevant to include. As before I would like to flag that I am the PR Manager of 3i Group so am connected to the company. I believe these edits are factural, neutral, and should add to the article's accuracy and usefulness for readers. I have added sources for the suggested additions. In the opening sentence I would like to suggest 'investment business' is changed to 'investment trust' as this is more accurate. Please see the referencing for this on the London Stock Exchange's website - 3I INFRASTRUCTURE PLC 3IN Our story - Stock | London Stock Exchange

Edit request 2:

In the 'History' section, I would like to suggest the sentence "The oil-tanking business generated a significant share of the company's returns in subsequent years." is deleted as it gives more prominance to oil-tanking in our returns than is accurate. The source (5) for that fact actually states that oil-tanking contributed to our returns in the first half of our financial year 2021. If you don't think it should be deleted it would be more accurate to say "The oil-tanking business generated a significant share of the company's returns in the first half of its 2021 financial year."

Edit request 3:

I would like to add some further detail to the 'History' section to make it more comprehensive. Taking the above edit and what is already in the section into account, my suggestion for the section is as follows:

The company was launched by way of an initial public offering in 2007.[1] It invested in Anglian Water Group, an investment it sold in December 2017 to a consortium of Dalmore Capital and GLIL Infrastructure, generating gross proceeds of £395 million.[2] In 2007 the company also acquired, through its holding company known as Oystercatcher, three oil-tanking storage terminals in the Netherlands, Malta and Singapore. It acquired further stakes in oil-tanking businesses in 2015.[3]

In December 2010, the company acquired a 33% interest in Eversholt Rail Group as part of a consortium with Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and STAR Capital Partners. It sold the investment in January 2015 to CK Investments S.A R.L., generating net proceeds of £365 million.[4][5]

In January 2012, 3i Infrastructure invested in

The company invested in Cross London Trains (‘XLT’), a business which leases rolling stock to Thameslink’s passenger rail franchise, in June 2013. It sold its stake in March 2019 to a consortium of Dalmore and Equitix funds generating proceeds of £333 million.[7]

In April 2016, 3i Infrastructure invested in Wireless Infrastructure Group, a British mobile infrastructure provider. It sold the investment in December 2019 to Brookfield Infrastructure, generating proceeds of £387 million.[8][9]

Underneath the section 'Major shareholder' I would like to suggest the addition of a new section titled 'Management' to explain the link between 3i Infrastructure and 3i Group plc. I would like to suggest the following sentence is added:

3i Infrastructure is managed by 3i Investments plc, a subsidiary of 3i Group plc.[10]

16PalaceStreet, I'm not a fan, personally – I generally don't care for that kind of section unless there is significant coverage and a reason to include it (on the principle of "if people want that information, that's what the company's website is for"). Hi @GeneralNotability - Thanks for your comments and for letting us know. Our thought is that if we don’t add some information on 3i Infrastructure’s current portfolio, or add more to the history section for example by using some of the additions we suggested in Request 3 above, it makes Oystercatcher appear more prominent in our history and portfolio than is accurate, which seems less helpful for readers. (For example, Oystercatcher is currently 8% of our portfolio). Our suggestion would be that we could either provide some information on the current portfolio, or add some more information to the history section, to make it clearer. What do you think? Hi @GeneralNotability – We have noticed one other thing which we would like to suggest is corrected please. In the box on the right hand side, it says 3i Group is 3i Infrastructure’s parent which isn’t correct. 3i Group is a major shareholder as the article mentions but it doesn’t own more than 51% (as the Wikipedia link to parent company defines). For accuracy we would like to suggest Parent is updated to Major shareholder in the box, or removed given it is covered in the article. It might be best to remove it given it’s covered in the body of the article. 3i Group is a major shareholder, but as there are lots of owners we don’t want to give the wrong impression about ownership. Hi @GeneralNotability – We recently published 3i Infrastructure’s financial year 2023 results. Would you mind updating the Revenue, Operating income and Net income figures in the box on the right hand side? Revenue - £497m (2023), Operating income - £394m (2023), Net income - £394m (2023). The figures are on p134 of the 2023 annual report - https://www.3i-infrastructure.com/media/qjulnn2d/26227_3in_ar2023_web.pdf 3i Group’s holding is now 29.2% rather than 30.2% (p168 of the report) so perhaps you wouldn’t mind updating that in the ‘Major shareholder’ section too.
