Hamilton Jordan story
I recall a famous story that, during the 1976 campaign, Carter said that if he picked (quintessential Washington insider) Cyrus Vance as secretary of state, we would know he failed. Does anyone know if this is true? I want to put it in the article, but I can't really find anything on the net about the story.
The story is: Hamilton Jordan, once said: "If, after the inauguration, you find a Cy Vance as secretary of state and Zbigniew Brzezinski as head of national security, then I would say we failed. And I'd quit."[1]

POV pushing
If you want to make unsubstantiated claims, substantiate them.--SarekOfVulcan 23:37, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Then they wouldn't be unsubstantiated claims anymore, and so this statement is nonsensical. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.228.12.39 (talk) 22:19, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Vance-Owen Peace Plan
This page needs some information about his role in the failed peace plan for the former Yugoslavia.
Also his involvment in Vukovar hospital massacre.

Yes, I'm sure Cyrus Vance was involved in many massacres. Serious suggestions only, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.57.12.103 (talk) 21:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

External link?
Would an interview with transcript with Cyrus Vance from 1987 be useful here as an external link? Focus of conversation is nuclear weapons policy. http://openvault.wgbh.org/catalog/V_A3D2B0C52B304484A8F58A699C2ABEC7 (I have a conflict of interest; otherwise I would add it myself.) Legal adoption?
If Cyrus Vance was adopted by John W. Davis as the article states, then why wasn't his surname changed? Thanks.HistoryBuff14 (talk) 22:23, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
