Aston's death
There's nothing in the article right now about his controversial autobiography and its discussion of Trevor Aston's suicide. This should probably be added as it received significant media coverage in the UK and the US. I'll try to write something on it. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:46, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Life
Is there a slip in the chronology? it seems to show him as becoming Chancellor of St Andrew's while still President of Corpus. Seadowns (talk) 15:10, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
- It's totally possible that he was both simultaneously. In UK universities, chancellorship is a largely ceremonial position. In this case, the Telegraph obituary for Dover says that:
In 1981, while still President of Corpus, Dover was appointed to the ceremonial position of Chancellor of St Andrews, where he returned to the family home after retiring from Corpus in 1986.

Pacific studies
Nothing is said about his interest in the Pacific languages, which he mentions in his autobiography. Seadowns (talk) 23:30, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
