Do we like the backwards format of this page? I find it a bit off-putting.
- I don't mind. It was that way in fr:. If you want to change it, that's fine with me. --User:Docu
- I tend to prefer this backwards format, since the recent history appears at the top and is therefore more visible. olivier 05:08, 25 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- It's not consistent with other list of pages. --Ann O'nyme 00:58, 30 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- Indeed not. One would also note that a page could be made in which actually dates, as opposed to just years, are given... I could do it, if there aren't any objections... john02:40, 30 Aug 2003 (UTC)

- I still prefer the backward format. Please give me a good reason before reverting it. John: of course, if you can find all the exact dates, rather than the years, please update the table! olivier 07:48, 30 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- Consistency is a good enough reason ;) All history articles are forward and it won't change. --Ann O'nyme 06:11, 31 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- Is there any decision taken in Wikipedia in this respect? olivier 11:31, 31 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- A series of lists start in the present, i.e. they go backwards, e.g. recent deaths. For shorter lists, I prefer this. As this list now goes backwards quite far, I'd prefer the chronological way. Obviously, there are more interesting changes that could be made, e.g. adding the head of state (as on Prime Minister of Spain) or the party of the minister (e.g. Prime Minister of the Netherlands), but not all of the lists (Prime_minister#Wikipedia_lists_of_prime_ministers) are necessarily uniform. -- User:Docu
Parties in French politics gets really difficult, particularly in the Third Republic, when they were pretty fluid. I agree that I'd prefer a list that goes forward. I'm not particularly eager to actually make the changes, however...
Backwards list - should it be reversed?
This remains the only list of its kind that goes backwards. Should we reverse it?
- Anyone? If nobody says anything, I'm going to reverse it later today. k 12:09, 31 May 2005 (UTC)]

Numbering, the finale
I've removed the numbering entirely. I understand to some this may seem like a
