birthplace

His birthplace is given as

Arpos. Does anyone know where he was actually born, and what that place is called today? Jd2718 22:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply

Theodosiopolis is a name of
Apros (corrected!) in Thrace, but much more commonly, it refers to modern Erzurum, which is what I changed the redirect to. --Macrakis 06:02, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply

His birthplace is Tosya. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geler7167 (talkcontribs) 14:16, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

this section contains some strong claims, but does not have a single reference, hence the template Greece666 (talk) 23:53, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Vafiadis or Vafeiadis?

Vafiadis or Vafeiadis?

One of the sources, namely Britannica, has yet another version, Vafiades. Technically they are all correct as English renderings of the Greek pronunciation, but the correct
transliteration is Vafeiadis. For the sake of consisitency one commonly used form should be used. Parabellus (talk) 12:02, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply

In this case, I will turn them all to Vafeiadis and add the two other spellings in the lead. --Greece666 (talk) 14:21, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
