Does She Have more than one cd out?

My Cousin recently gave me a cd with 9 songs of Miranda that weren't on the Kerosene cd and one with what sounds like Buddy Jewel. the songs were something like

Jack Daniels

Last Goodbye

Lyin' Here

Somebody Else

What in the World

Texas as Hell

Texas Pride

Another Heartache

Wichita Falls

The one with Buddy Jewel was a cover of Today I Started Loving You Again

Dustinwayne 02:36, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The songs listed above are from Miranda's self titled independent album. It was basically a demo CD that she sold while touring Texas before Nashville Star. I believe "Somebody Else" charted in the top 20 on the Texas Music Chart.

Today I Started Loving You Again is indeed Buddy Jewell with Miranda Lambert. The song was on Buddy's first album. I would guess that the other Miranda songs that you have were songs that she cut but never put on an album. But with these Texas artists, you can't always tell. 68.188.191.9 16:14, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

She had an album out in 2002? with those first 9 songs + "Something that I Like about a Honky Tonk". It is a self-titled album, "Miranda Lambert", Produced by Heartfair Records. If you search really hard you can find it on occasion, used. Runs around $300-500. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.127.44.233 (talk) 20:09, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Her House

Her house was actually moved from Tyler, Texas to her parents' land in Lindale after she purchased it in summer 2004. She completely renovated the house and had a housewarming/birthday party there on 11/10/04. —The preceding

Singles

Okay, who monkeyed with the singles chart? Those other songs that were added NEVER charted. And she has NEVER had a Top 10, much less a #1 on ANY chart. I reverted it to what it was before. I have the charts, so I can confirm that THESE peaks are correct. TenPoundHammer 18:10, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Change pic!

For the record, the picture of Miranda in April 2010 catches her at a really bad angle; she is normally very beautiful in photos. May I suggest changing the img? User:Ardavu

It is rather unflattering, so if you have a better image, go on ahead n make the change. CloversMallRat (talk) 20:04, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Miranda Lambert

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Miranda Lambert's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "musicrow":

  • From Revolution (Miranda Lambert album): "Lambert Planning A "Revolution At The Ryman"". MusicRow. 2009-08-06. Retrieved 2010-12-14.
  • From Only Prettier: http://www.musicrow.com/2010/06/new-single-new-video-for-miranda-lambert/

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 13:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Is she related to Adam Lambert? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skysong263 (talkcontribs) 05:53, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

Now that she married Blake Shelton, she said that she would change her name to Miranda Shelton, but she would remain known professionally as Miranda Lambert. See http://tasteofcountry.com/miranda-lambert-shelton/. How would I put this in the article? --La223 (talk) 12:47, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Her name, Miranda Leigh Shelton, is on the first line of the Lede, and her professional name, Maranda Lambert, is above her first picture (in the Lede). It is now clear to every reader. Also, throughout the article, 'Lambert' refers to the singer, and 'Shelton' refers to her husband. -- AstroU (talk) 13:45, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Lede picture, new article section

With her three wins at the Academy of Country Music Awards last evening (with seven nominations to her credit) there could be an even better first picture (in the Lede) and a new section with additional pictures. -- AstroU (talk) 13:52, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestry

The surname Lambert is typically German so at least one of her ancestors should be German. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arndt1969 (talkcontribs) 17:03, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

RfC about "country" in lede

As with the ongoing RfCs at

WP:BOLDly add it. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 22:15, 13 December 2017 (UTC).[reply
]

  • Support adding Country. It's her only genre listed in her infobox. There is a huge difference to being a country singer and say a pop singer. JDDJS (talk) 16:31, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose using in opening sentence because that's where occupations belong; adding genres there would be needless overstuffing for no good reason. Including it in other parts of the lead, however, is fine. Snuggums (talk / edits) 03:17, 21 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support in lead but not in first sentence. L3X1 (distænt write) 15:06, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Our readers should be able to figure that out without inundating the lead with the word "country".  She's on the "country charts", she has won "country music awards", her Grammy was for "best country album"....I think it's safe to assume that she sings and writes country music. 🎼🎤 Atsme📞📧 18:00, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Adding...she also sings gospel/religious songs.[reply]
    • Yes, Christian country music is a thing, but she is now widely known for that genre of music, in fact, some of her songs barely fits into the gospel/religious category, but that is all just original research and isn't worth mentioning in the article at all. That aside, by that logic, should we also remove "country" from the ledes of these articles, for example? - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 06:53, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I am unsure what statement in BLP creates the thought that the genre of music must be included. I assume that the relevant portion of BLP is "
    Positions and roles
    ", which states:
The lead sentence should describe the person as he or she is commonly described in reliable sources. The notable position(s) or role(s) the person held should usually be stated in the opening paragraph. However, avoid overloading the lead paragraph with various sundry roles; instead, emphasize what made the person notable. Incidental and non-notable roles (i.e. activities that are not integral to the person's notability) should usually not be mentioned in the lead paragraph.
Based on that, I don't think there is any requirement to include a specific genre in the lead sentence. For example, note that the Bob Dylan article does not attempt to place that songwriter in any particular box.--Rpclod (talk) 14:08, 1 January 2018 (UTC)(Summoned by bot)[reply]
  • Support adding Country - Seems non-controversial. I don't think there any ambiguity about which genre she belongs in. I don't udnerstand any of the "oppose" arguments.
    WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS arguments. 50 Cent's bio says he's a rapper. NickCT (talk) 13:31, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply
    ]
  • I would say that "singer" (for opening sentence) is most appropriate for all three of those people you've linked. Discussing genre in subsequent lead text is one thing, but it's overfilling the opening sentence to include there. The medical professions you've listed aren't really comparable examples. Snuggums (talk / edits) 17:28, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
NickCT misses my point. The opening sentence in this section states: "per MOS:BLP the genre should be included in the lede on a case-by-case basis". That assertion is incorrect. Nothing in MOS:BLP requires or even suggests that genre should be included in the opening sentence. I don't want editors to think that something is required when it is not.--Rpclod (talk) 16:33, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't have to be in the opening sentence, especially if the singer is commonly known for singing across multiple genres as with FA's
Madonna (entertainer) which give their monikers King and Queen of Pop respectively in the same paragraph but not lead sentence. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:43, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply
]
  • Okay to add Per
    WP:BLPLEAD, occupation as commonly described in sources shows her as a "country star" [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] and where it isn't it's usually in the context of a country music section [7] [8] or country music website. If the same sentence mentions "country music" then it would be of course redundant to say "American country music singer who sings country music". If it's in the second sentence that's okay too. It should be at the minimum in the lead paragraph. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:25, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply
    ]
  • Oppose per
    "buries" the genre way at the bottom of a lengthy, multi-paragraph lead section, then obviously the lead can be improved by moving the first mention to be earlier. (Not an issue here – "country" is in the first paragraph – twice). This is normal, everyday copyediting and editorial judgement, and is not grounds for dispute except in a weird case, much less cause for a firehose of RfCs about the same thing over and over. RfCs are for pulling community attention toward resolution of real disputes or unsettled questions that actually matter. They are costly. We do not need to have one of these for every single country singer/band/whatever, or we'll spend the next decade doing nothing but arguing over this trivia.
