The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (transl. Tamil Nadu Victory Federation; abbr. TVK) is a political party in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It was founded by actor-turned-politician Vijay on 2 February 2024.[4]

History

On 26 June 2009,

better source needed] On 2 February 2024, Vijay announced the launch of his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.[9][10] Political analysts suggested that, the TVK party might undergo its expansion to other states of India including North in the near future.[11] Vijay deemed CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) 2019 passed by the ruling authority of India as unacceptable as it will disrupt the social religious harmony of the nation.[12]
