This is Bumm13's user page. I am putting this page up because someone on IRC made me. Ok, not really. :-) I started editing at Wikipedia on August 28, 2002 with a new article about the Apple Lisa. This makes me a rough equivalent to former Wikipedia user Hephaestos. Since then, I have written over 294 new articles (anonymously), making me the disputed "King of IP Contributors". My IPs have been welcomed to Wikipedia many times, click on this link to see some examples. For those who care, I live in the United States.

I used to hang out on the #wikipedia IRC channel frequently. This is no longer the case.

Dammit, I'm a sysop now. All rants and pleas for assistance go here on my talk page. (Apparently, I was made an admin on March 25, 2005) :-)

Please do not put barn stars or any other religious symbolism here. Otherwise, I will feed them to my cat.

I am still interested in alphabets and characters from non-Latin alphabet languages, as in Unicode/UTF-8. I'm also a big fan of classic animation. :D

Wikipedia currently has 6,844,835 articles.

Dot-maps

Yes, I make U.S. state city dot-maps. :D

I have finished the states of Washington, Nevada, Delaware, Oregon, Wisconsin, Northern California, and Nebraska. For Wisconsin, I made over 1,720 maps using a basic template map. Many of these maps have been traced by other users and converted into SVG format. For a complete list of cities and places I've done dot-maps for, click here.

For more information on WP dot-maps, see User:Seth Ilys/Dot Project.

I once made dot-maps for cities/places in the states of Australia but no longer do. I completed maps for cities in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The remainder of this user page is geek diatribe. You've been warned!

I cannot talk about myself (Bumm13) without mentioning computers. Of course, without computers, I wouldn't know about Wikipedia. I remember using a Wyse terminal at my local library in 1986. My first computer usage was on an Apple //e with a single Disk ][ 5.25-inch floppy drive at school in late 1986. Our family purchased a Leading Edge Model D (8088) PC running DOS in 1988. So right there, the "computer trinity": Unix, Apple, and (shudder) commodity PC.

Since then, I have been fascinated with computers and how they work, etc. Unfortunately, my one shortcoming is that I cannot program. Anything! So I edit this online encyclopedia instead. Anyway, I discovered the World Wide Web (Internet) in 1996 and later Usenet, and now IRC. I guess I'm a writer, but oh well. Enjoy Wikipedia!
