DYK nomination of Bahra 1

Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Johnbod (talk) 18:19, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

Do this now please - if you initiate a DYK nom it isn't really acceptable to only edit fortnightly. Johnbod (talk) 13:41, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I corrected and added new sources, sorry for the delay, nominated before pandemic in my country. I will also complete the hook in a moment Aszu23 (talk) 18:36, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please see new note on your DYK nomination. Yoninah (talk) 19:19, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Bahra 1

On 20 April 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bahra 1, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Bahra 1 in Kuwait is the oldest permanent settlement south of Mesopotamia? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bahra 1. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bahra 1), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read

the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard

to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on

section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pcma.uw.edu.pl/en/2019/03/19/ghazali-2/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing
.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Praxidicae (talk) 17:07, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have speedy deleted the article as a copyright infringement. You must not copy from online sources without marking the copied text as a quotation, and properly attributing it. Even if properly marked, excessive quotations are not acceptable. Wikipedia is very serious about this principle. In academic circles it also counts as plagiarism, as you no doubt know. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 20:21, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the appropriate response, although I did not copy, I made footnotes, and in the second source I cited (Sudan and Nubia 22, 155-166) the information resource was similar and in a similar order, of course you are right that there are too many similarities, I'm very sorry about this mistake, I made the second version as a draft, can I have a request to check if it's ok now? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Aszu23/Monastery_in_Ghazali Aszu23 (talk) 11:09, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

re:
Asasif Project

I have doubts whether the Polish expedition only approach is best. You may want to ask others at

Wikipedia:WikiProjet Archeology, but as a layman, I'd rather read about the entire history of a site, not just one (national) dimension). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:53, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply
