I feel that the old one was rather hard to follow and the dates were all over the place -- i.e. something that happened in the 1880's was explained before explaining something that happened in the 1870's. Yeah, I was on there under the name "Napkin". I thought your name sounded familiar (although I couldn't remember if it was from EotF or U2-vertigo-tour). I was actually hoping that you knew what had happened to it. One day I went on with no problems, and then the next I couldn't access it. It's been like that to this day, so I guess it got shut down because of all of the uploadings. You're actually the first old member I've been lucky enough to get in touch with.

Ah right, I think I remember you - though it's certainly been a while. I'd stopped being active before EotF went down, so I'm honestly not sure what happened. I've a sneaking suspicion that the owner just got tired of running it/paying for webspace. One of my friends may know for sure; Daniel, bono_man2002 on Interference, no idea what he went by on EotF but I think he was around until the end and knew the webmaster. I'll have to ask him next time we catch up. I don't think the downloads would really be a factor, given how successful places like U2Torrents and U2Start are. It's not easy, believe me! The early stuff is absolute hell. Even when you can find a newspaper review of a gig, you're lucky if half the song titles are remotely accurate. I think I finally managed to clear up what demos were recorded when, though! I know they're not strictly setlists, but I put it on U2VT anyway just to try to counter the misinformation floating around online. Setlists nowadays are dead easy though, with being able to listen to virtually every concert via someone's mobile phone streamed online. - Axver 12:37, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely an unusual take, isn't it? I really like it though; the changed lyrics, the falsetto voice, and just Bono on the acoustic guitar. I have to say though, I think I prefer it with the keyboards/piano part present on Zooropa. Good call on the airdate though!

Man, you are really going to have a blast out there; if you have the time, you should try visiting the Vimy Ridge memorial. I went there two years ago (two years ago today actually), and it was a life-changing experience for me. I'll bet you're hoping the band won't have PopMart syndrome when you see them though =P.

That's bizzare that U2.com has been so out of sorts. At least the pre-sales worked better this time. It is bad for a lot of casual fans though; my Mom works with a few U2 fans, and since they knew I was such a big fan they were constantly asking her about the tour, because they couldn't find much about it. They missed getting tickets, unfortunately. As for the scalpers... it's really amazing to me that they can just walk around outside the venue selling tickets since it's illegal. You'd think they'd be arrested. And can't TicketsNow and eBay track the users who upload $30 tickets and try to sell them for $2500? It's illegal, so you think that instead of just yanking the sale they'd contact the ISP and get them to contact police, or something like that.

@FunIsOptional: Sorry but I have never understood the point of those citation templates. They are way more cumbersome than simply typing a citation directly. But then I'm the sort of guy who in my professional work stubbornly insists on doing my footnotes and bibliographies manually rather than using Endnote or Zotero like so many other academics.
