Hi TheFeargod, I changed the fatalities on this page from 66 to 62. Most of the news reports I found said 62. I've also had difficulty finding lengthy, and descriptive stories about this bombing. Also, thank you for telling me I was leaving out categories in my articles.User:Bob371, 17 February 2007

NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

Hi TheFEARgod, As I get the impression that there is an edit war unfolding, I took the liberty to jump in. I have edited the infobox to quote directly from the NATO press statement. Please note that the

Casus Belli implies that "a government [needs] to demonstrate that it was going to war only as a last resort", therefore the non-acceptance of the Rambouillet terms is the casus belli, that what ultimately led to the war unfolding. Regards, Asteriontalk 18:48, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply

Somalia

I did not "rush" into making it, I have been actively following the progression of the conflict since the battle of Mogadishu and have been surprised that Wikipedia has not covered the event. The article should not be merged into the civil war article any more than the US war in Afghanistan should or the Soviet war in afghanistan should. These are seperate wars or conflicts within a state of civil war, you might call them phases. Just like Afghanistan, this is a seperate phase in the conflict going on in Somalia. So many people are comparing it to Afghanistan to justify a merge, but this is a false justification as the comparison works in favor of keeping the article. The only "rushing" that occured was 8 minutes after the article was first created, and during my efforts to assemble information, it was put up for deletion without any discussion, halting any improvements and making me now have to discuss its deletion rather than add content. People are too eager to jump on others, and seeing the way discussion is going there is really no reason for me to continue to state my case and explain why it deserves its own article. A quick search for the conflict shows most news sources calling it either the Somali or Somalian war, hence the name choice, though obviously it could be moved if someone has a better idea. ~Rangeley (talk) 20:49, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the copyvio tag, It is there so an administrator can determine wether or not you are required to comply with the official Wikipedia policy, shown below,
Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. This is because it is the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation to allow an unfree image only if no free alternative exists and only if it significantly improves the article it is included on. All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if there is a broad consensus that doing so is necessary to the goal of creating a free encyclopedia (like the templates used as part of the Main Page).

We seem to have created two separate articles on the same event, at the very same minute. You made

2006 Hengchun earthquake. The early news reports I read indicated it was in the Luzon Strait. Perhaps indicating it was in the South China Sea is more accurate? I added links to the Luzon Strait version at the bottom of Earthquake#21st_Century and Tsunami#2006_-_Philippines_tsunami. I'll gladly respect whichever title you think is best. If you'd like to change those links and redirect the Luzon Strait earthquake article, please feel free, or let me know and I'll be happy to do it. There is some additional information in the Luzon Strait version, so, of course, feel free to merge it into the South China Sea version if you feel it's beneficial. I'll refrain from editing either until I hear back from you, to keep any further edit conflicts at a minimum. Be well. Justen 13:54, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply

Adds to the Iraq war campaignbox

I have added an article about the Karbala insurgent raid and the suicide attack on the military base in Mosul in 2004 to he battles and bombings campaignboxes of the Iraq war. As for the battles there are no mroe to be added just wait for new ones. But for the bombings I also added yesterday the attack on the UN headquarters have you any propositions for any more major suicide attack to be added. Maybe the car-bombing in the summer of 2003 in Najaf I don't remember that much but I think almost a 100 people were killed. Send me a reply. ThanksTop Gun

I think that we should leave the bombings campaignbox of the Iraq war seperate from the terrorism box and create a seperate independent campaignbox for the terrorism in Iraq Top Gun

OK I agree with you for the terrorism box but think that a box with major bombings listed in it should also be there separate from the terrorism box, something like major Kamikeze attacks of the Pacific theater of World war two.Top Gun

Result U.S. victory
Belligerents
United States United States Iraqi insurgents
Strength

Casualties and losses

The Battle of Husybah was fought in the spring of

United States Marines and insurgents were looking to relieve pressure on the city by atempting an offensive of there own. Ten days before the highway connecting Al Anbar to Baghdad was cut and the insurgents attacked the capital of the province, Ramadi. The attack was repulsed by the Marines and the battle resulted in heavy casualties on both sides. Now the insurgents were ready for another attack, on the city of Husaybah
on the Syrian border.

The Battle

An estimated 300 Iraqis from Fallujah and Ramadi launched an assault against the Americans in Husaybah around eight in the morning, first detonating a roadside bombing and then hitting with 24 mortars. When Marines responded to the bombing, they were met with small-arms and machine-gun fire as they neared a former Ba'ath Party headquarters. They immediately called for a quick reaction force to help them. The force that was coming in to help was mortared and hit by machine-gun fire as they made their way into the city. The quick reaction force platoon dismounted their vehicles and countinued down the streets on foot. The fighting lasted the whole day and it was block by block. The quick reaction force started taking fire from two-story buildings. The platoon continued to push north along a street known to the Marines as "East End Street." All along the street insurgents where occupying houses and where constantly laying down fire at the Marines. The Marines continued north, all the way collecting insurgents and weapons in the back of the hummers. They got to one house that the insurgents were using as a stronghold. The Marines used a school as a rally point to take the house. All the time while trying to take out the insurgents in the house, the Marines were taking fire from every other direction. Heavy machine gun and RPG fire was coming from the insurgents inside the house and the Marines were starting to take on casualties. In addition to the small-arms fire, three rockets were fired at the house. But even that did not take out the insurgents. The platoon decided to smoke the insurgents out of the house. All nine insurgents from inside the house were eventually killed. The house would later be called by the Marines as "The Crack House". The unit continued to push through the hostile town, all the while collecting weapons and detainees as well as wounded Marines. They would meet the rest of the battalion on Market Street. Fighting continued late into the night as Marine Cobra helicopter gunships strafed enemy positions near a downtown soccer stadium and Marine helicopters continued to take wounded to their main base at Camp Al-Qaim. All of the Marines were killed in the first hour of the fighting, four of them when they went to clear out "The Crack House" where Iraqi fighters were hiding. The battalion commander, Colonel Matthew Lopez, said he believed the Marines had crushed the insurgents' attack. I don't think they expected us to retaliate as hard as we did.[1]

Aftermath

Five Marines were killed along with 150 insurgents in the fierce battle that lasted 14 hours. Another 9 Marines were wounded and 20 insurgents captured.[2]

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected

WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music
articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.

Attack on FOB Marez

Cuj hteo sam da razgovaram sa tobom uvezi napada na vojnu bazu Marez i spajanja ona dva clanka koje si predlozio Bombings and terrorist attacks of the Iraq war i Suicide bombings in Iraq since 2003. Kao sto smo rekli na toj stranici This is a list of major terrorist attacks of the Iraq War. Top Gun 17:09, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gun 19:33, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chadian-Libyan conflict

Hi Feargod, thanks for your template it's really nice, I should have thought about it myself. But I have to disagree regarding your last edit to

Opération Manta, in the edit summary you said a warbox should be built; but the problem is Operation Manta was never thought by the French as a war mission, but as a deterrence mission, and both the French and the Libyans avoided attacking each other, let alone break economic and diplomatic relations. Do you know if there's a sort of "operation box"? Ciao,--Aldux 20:45, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply
]

Nice, thanks, I'll see to add the French strength (3,500 for Manta and 2,200 for Epervier). I wanted to put it in "strength3", but the box has some problem showing the numbers.--Aldux 22:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Operation Epervier

Hi feargod. I see you've moved the article to "Operation Sparrowhawk". The problem is this name is very rarely used even in English to refer to the operation, and instead "Operation Epervier" is by far preferred in the sources I've consulted. When you have objections regarding the name of a Chad-related article, could you first leave me a message, so we can discuss about eventual disagreements? Bombaski napadi

Hi,

I wanted the template there to cover the chopper shootdown (we have no other mention of it). I'm very busy on-wiki right now, but could you possibly start a short sub-stub on the shootdown for the purposes of the disasters project? Please? Thanks, Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 15:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I beg to differ; only e couple of hours ago, an article I've been working on about an eleven-fatality shootdown during the 2007 Battle of Mogadishu was passed as a good article. No-one ever requested a merge or even questioned the notability of the incident since its creation a month ago, including a high-visibility period when it was on DYK. Therefore, I believe an article on the chopper shootdown should be fine. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 17:02, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for contributing to Fascism in Estonia. You however need to edit your contribution as it borrows too heavily on the source. Also note that the Bronze Soldier of Tallinn brought a whole wave of new editors from Estonia. They all seem to have only one agenda, rejecting what they call Soviet occupation denialism. They may see your edits as an example of this denialism. -- Petri Krohn 17:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"From the mid-1930s, when the Omakaitse adherents gained power" is exactly the kind of sentence which indicates that neither its author, nor whoever takes it seriously, possesses even trivial knowledge about Estonian history. It simply does not make sense, as Omakaitse was created only in 1941. Konstantin Päts and other people close to him who gained power in the mid-1930s never even had a chance to become "Omakaitse adherents", as by 1941 the Soviets had either executed or deported them from Estonia. I have been following your recent Estonia-related edits, TheFEARGod, and without fear of any God can tell you that most of them do not qualify for much more than insults to intelligence. Your admitted hate of fascism is okay, but please do not edit articles about things that you have no clue about. Regards,--Klamber 20:48, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hariri Tribunal

Hi TheFEARgod. That's a very complicated question, and the answer likely depends on who you ask. :) I may not be the best person to ask, as I don't live in Lebanon, but here it goes.

I believe there could be a few reasons that some Lebanese oppose the tribunal. First, if they were complicit in the assassination, they would oppose it for obvious reasons. For instance, different groups inside Lebanese have been suspected of having a hand in the assassination, including Hezbollah and the current president,

ongoing anti-government protests, the goal of which is to get Hezbollah veto power in the cabinet. If the government continues to function without Hezbollah's say, it greatly diminishes the power of their protests. As such, they may just oppose the tribunal as a way to show that the current government is powerless without them, until they get veto power in the Lebanese cabinet. There's also the whole complexity with Fatah al-Islam
going on now too, which also has some ties to apparently bombings in Lebanon.

Basically, it comes down to two things: nobody trusts their political enemies, and both sides are in a struggle for power. That's my take on the situation at least, but again, I'm no expert, and it's highly complex. ;) Cheers. — George [talk] 19:25, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that so many groups benefit from a divided or chaotic Lebanon, or, likewise, a subservient Lebanon. Syria could have assassinated Hariri to shut up the opponents to Syrian occupation of Lebanon, or to shut up those who opposed Syrian influence in politics (such as the Syrian-backed extension of the term of President Emile Lahoud). Israel or the United States would could have assassinated him to frame Hezbollah or Syria, two groups it's not too friendly with (though I suspect this move would be too risky for either, but who knows). Hezbollah could have assassinated him at the behest of Syria, or simply to defend their status as a armed militia. Fatah al-Islam or another group, Palestinian or otherwise, could have assassinated him to destabilize the country – either in the hopes of gaining political power in the aftermath, or forming a Palestinian state within Lebanon (similar to as was attempted in the civil war), or to frame Hezbollah. After all, Fatah al-Islam are religious enemies of Hezbollah, and want to be at the "forefront" of fighting Israel in their place. Or someone we haven't even thought about yet. There are a ton of possible suspects, so the case will likely come down to evidence. We'll see. ;) — George [talk] 21:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Shamir1 has opened a medation request for renaming the 2006 Lebanon War article to 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War. As someone who was involved in previous discussions on the topic, I thought you may want to join in. Cheers. — George [talk] 23:02, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note

While in my writing I may continue to use Israel-Hezbollah, as opposed to the additional "i", I just want you to know that does not reflect my personal opinion of whether to include it or not. While both have the exact same meaning, I acknowledge your concern that one may be more correct. I have not yet looked into the matter in great detail and do not plan on it until the bigger issue is at least somewhat settled. Just wanted to make sure there were no misunderstandings. Thanks for putting your thought into the discussion. --Shamir1 23:40, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proveri Timeline of the Palestinian Civil war u njemu sam uneo pojedinacno svaku zrtvu svakog incidenta u zadnja cetiri dana na osnovu Yahoo-vih vesti. Sad vidi i sam pod kakvim uslovima radim.
