We only add release dates where a song was released independently of the album. "Exile" is not officially a single until it is released to radio on August 3rd. On 12 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cardigan (song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Taylor Swift wrote the lyrics to the song "Cardigan" to co-writer Aaron Dessner's music in around five hours? Hi, you've added this image as the British single cover art, but it doesn't seem like Swift has released a CD single for this song in the UK. Can you explain why you captioned it this way? Regarding your edit here, how did you determine "What Makes a Woman" is a promo single as opposed to an official single? I may have missed something calling it one but either way couldn't tell how you reached such a conclusion. Also, while we might not need the "more to come" bit, I'd like to point out that her response was in fact in the given link. reliable sources that confirm it’s a single. Because it was released as promo from the album, and is not a single, it is considered a promotional single. I didn’t think of it as a single, but then @Rangel Carregosa made this edit, and I thought "Oh that makes more sense, it should be classified as a promotional single" and ran with it, causing me to make those edits. The fact that Katy wrote "What Makes A Woman is out now" appeared to suggest single release when such posts are quite common for that type of release, though I see where you're coming from with promo for the album when she also brings up a pre-order for Smile now that I read through it again. SNUGGUMS we've determined that Australian radio sourced from The Music Network is not reliable on its own. Doggy54321 the singles from Folklore were serviced via All Access which is a radio-industry endorsed platform. SNUGGMS it was discussed at Talk:Sour_Candy_(Lady_Gaga_and_Blackpink_song). I also brought it up at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Songs#Why_The_Music_Network_shouldn't_be_used_for_release_dates. Doggy54321 I noticed that when you add updates you mostly use primary sources i.e. youtube videos. You should also include a reliable secondary source that supports or states the same info you add to the article. Like the edit you recently made for the animated dance video where you wrote "Part of the dance routine was used in the official music video". While this may be true it's like the equivalent of original research, one can't know this unless they go watch both videos as it isn't stated in the video either (since it's not a making of or a behind the scenes explaining the correlation). But if you have media article that covered the animated video and discussed what it has in common with the orig mv then that would correctly support your edit. Otherwise you'll have to remove that sentence and just leave the part saying the video was uploaded, but you'd still need an additional ref of a reliable source saying so like I did for the teaser, mv and bts videos. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 04:24, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

I kind of touched on this above with the VMAs article, but I feel like I need to say something again. It's a little annoying how quickly you jump in right after I've made an edit to make more changes or "fix" something like you did just now on "Ice Cream". I went back in to add the Notes section and lo and behold you'd done it already (excluding your 3 "fixes" to what I wrote). I get that you're enthusiastic about editing and it's great that you care but man if you'd just waited a min or two I would have done it myself. I edit from my phone and my screen is slightly cracked so sometimes it takes me a min or 2 longer to do something than if I was on a desktop or working with a perfect touchscreen. I didn't forget to add it and honestly it felt like you were impatient with how fast you swooped in. I'm not perfect. Sometimes I'll hit back or enter or fullstop and the touch won't register and my edit will save with an error in it which I won't see until I'm reviewing the page after I save, but you gotta give people time to do stuff. I'm not trying to bring you down or anything but it really bothered me, especially when your other immediate edits unnecessarily split a properly worded sentence and moved a footnote to the middle of the same sentence which is messy. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 01:35, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

@Carlobunnie: hi Carlobunnie. To keep a long answer short, it’s purely because I checked my watchlist a minute after you made your edit. I saw you added an {{efn}} template and didn’t see a "Notes" section (I thought you had forgotten), so I added it. To respond to the fixes, I made those edits as I thought things should be fixed, and they ended up being 3 separate edits. When I see that you’ve made an edit, I’ll make sure to think about the fact that you have a cracked/slow phone, and if you make an edit and something doesn’t feel right I’ll wait a few minutes before swooping in. Hi! Just seeking clarification behind this good faith edit to The Album (Blackpink album). Did you feel the content was not listed in the source used? I've had a look at the source and personally felt it was adequate. The page used as a reference has an article (The edit in which it was added even linked to it, albeit incorrectly) and is generally considered a reliable source. I have not broken the 3RR rule. I have not committed three reversions within a 24-hour time frame on that page. And you are wrong again: I have worked on this article significantly in the past and ensured "pop" is supported with numerous sources and paraphrased quotations from professional reviews cited in the Critical reception section. assume good faith, because when I was just starting on Wikipedia, I engaged in multiple edit wars about stylization, synthesis, citing sources and more. I was confused and didn’t know what to do. Luckily, multiple people have taught me lessons, and I have grown because of it. I'm not going to get involved in the edits between you and various IPs as to whether this album will be released on Columbia or not, but I'll just say that it's very likely – RCA UK is owned by Sony Music who also own Columbia, so it's quite possible that it will be released on Columbia outside the UK. To be completely honest, I’m pretty sure Columbia will have a hand in the releasing stage, but it against Wikipedia policy to add unsourced material into an article. The consensus was to use just one chronology. There was no set position about all items in a chronology having links. The way to solve that is to

If you take a look at this edit summary by Isento reverting one of my edits to Reputation (Taylor Swift album), you can see that I tried to change the chronology to make it true to the Taylor Swift discography page, but Isento said "Template:Infobox album#Chronology says the establish a 'chain,' (which is defined as a succession of items forming a line), but linking to a table at the discography page would break the chain." If we were to apply this back to A Very Trainor Christmas, the album doesn’t have a page, so you can’t link to the discography page or leave the link black, as that would be breaking said chain. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ariana Grande; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. @Woody: hello. I’m sorry for misusing my rollback permissions, my hand slipped, I hit the wrong button, and had to step away from my device. It’s my fault for not checking after and reverting myself.

In response to the edit war, this one IP address keeps removing the same two words without ever explaining why. It’s frustrating, I’ve used edit summaries to tell them to stop, but they continue to do it. I have lost my ability to assume good faith, and I have told them multiple times to stop, yet they continue to do it. I continue to say that it’s "unexplained removal of content", but they don’t listen and revert anyways (examples 1, 2 and 3). I’ll try leaving a message on their talk page to ask them to stop, but I’m fed up at this point, especially since this isn’t the first time, this IP changed addresses, and was doing this about a week ago as well (examples 1 and 2). Lover Fest page as I had just come back from editing that. Sorry, I’m off today. In response to that edit war, what exactly happened??? They removed without reason, and said, and I quote, "The existing consensus is that 'songwriter' should be listed, if anyone disagrees with that they should take it to the talk page." First off, there is no consensus, two users just got blocked over this exact thing. Then, I reverted their edit and said "what consensus? I looked at the talk page and it came up blank", which it did. There is no consensus. Also, I did take it to the talk page right after to express my concerns. I know two users have been blocked and I came from the RFPP request. They were blocked for edit warring, the same activity you were conducting. If you think an edit is contentious (which the twenty reverts in the last 48 hours would suggest) then take it to the talk page and in particular invite them to the discussion on the talk page. You are one of a number of people who have been reverting without discussion (except in edit summaries which does not count as discussion). I appreciate you taking it onboard. I see exactly this kind of problem in terms of lack of engagement on one side all the time. First, try and gain a consensus on the talk page. After a reasonable amount of time, if there is a consensus (or no engagement on the talk page) you can make the change on the page. If they then continue to edit without discussion then you can report them for edit warring at

WP:RS. TellyMix, for example, is unreliable, as there are a bunch of ads and their articles are written like blogs. Examples of reliable sources include Billboard and Rolling Stone. As far as social media goes, you shouldn’t cite social media unless extremely necessary. For example, if Perrie had a baby and she posted about it on Twitter, we would add the info into the article with the Twitter source, and replace it with reliable sources later. The issue here is that MusicNotes is not reliable source for the vocal range of the singers in the song, as it is an arrangement that is written with the purpose of being sung by one person and thus does not change register for when it is being sung by the female voice Taylor Swift compared to the male voice Justin Vernon. The source is not detailing the vocal range of Justin Vernon and Taylor Swift in exile but rather is detailing the vocal range of the arrangement that MusicNotes itself has made. Because of this it is incorrect to take that information and say that it is indicative of the vocal range of the duo in the song. There is a range difference of an octave from where Taylor Swift enters on the melody compared to Justin Vernon's part but that is not notated in the MusicNotes arrangement. Justin Vernon's lowest note in the song is a Cb2 which is easily discernible from a Cb3, and this is even described in the write-up of the song as it talks about his low-register baritone. A Cb3 would not fall under the parameters of low-register baritone, and we need to recognize that MusicNotes is not an accurate source always for male vocal registers since it is not written in that notation and register. Every single arrangement on MusicNotes is accompanied by the notice under the arrangement details tab that "The Arrangement Details Tab gives you detailed information about this particular arrangement of [the song] - not necessarily the song." (in this specific instance the song being Piano Man by Billy Joel which also includes the incorrect octave designation) https://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0136416#ProductDetails It isn't that MusicNotes is unreliable, it's that it isn't claiming that as being the range of the singers in the song. Despite that Wikipedia users use that info to incorrectly claim that as being the range of the singers in the song because they don't understand the difference in octaves and range. Here is another source from MusicNotes that provides more info on vocal range which would let you know that most Wikipedia articles detailing the vocal range of male vocalists in songs is off by an octave and does not fit with what MusicNotes itself describes as the male voice types and corresponding vocal ranges. https://www.musicnotes.com/now/tips/determine-vocal-range/ Wikipedia song articles that detail the vocal range of male singers correctly are the exception and not the norm, and taking the vocal range given in the MusicNotes arrangement at face value needs an overhaul. @Robert McClenon: hey. I re-submitted the draft because it met the criteria. User:AngusWOOF said that the article needed to be reliably sourced, which the article has since been. The comment made that the album needs to be released and the article needs charting/reviews stopped showing up for me, therefore I couldn’t see it when I submitted it.

In response to paid editing accusations...I- no I just love Little Mix a lot and edit their articles frequently. If any member of Little Mix were to look in my direction I’d be flattered, but no I am not getting payed by them to edit Wikipedia. That would go against everything Wikipedia, along with I, stand for. Not to be disrespectful, but could you assume good faith?

Also, about once a week an IP re-submits this draft, so could you not penalize me for others' actions? By your comment it seems like I will be getting all the flack if anyone re-submits.

You can ask me if you want an article moved, but there is a way to move an article on an iPad. A way is you could go down to the bottom of the page. You should see a button that says "Desktop". Click on that, and it should take you to the computer version of Wikipedia. Once you're there, you can see the "More" tab right next to the search bar. Click on that, and the move button comes up. Sometimes I edit using my phone, and this is the way I do it when I can't find the option that I want when using the mobile version. Also, if you are not able to move a page (can sometimes occur), you could request a move at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests. Hope this helps! For it to be re-added it must be supported by reliable sources (the general guidelines go into detail about this) and the album must meet at least one of the criteria of the album guidelines. Important to point out that notability is not inherited, each album needs to demonstrate notability, so I don’t give a flying crap that they have other Wiki articles, this one isn’t notable. If you add it back I’ll revert it in a snap, unless you make sure it’s notable. If you want to continue working on the article, tell me and I’ll arrange for a draftspace article to be created so that you can continue working on it while the article does not remain in the mainspace. To clarify: a draft space article is not public, and cannot be accessed by the general public, so it’s a great opportunity to work on the album page while it not breaking Wiki rules. Hope this helps! You can’t make it notable, the album has to be notable itself. I see that all the other NSP articles have reliable sources and charting, meaning that they are notable. As soon as this album meets the guidelines you can re-add it. What "broke" (use that word loosely) the rules was that the album was a) not notable and b) not sourced properly. Hope this helps. 1. It’s unsourced. Content without a source is generally kept off of Wikipedia as it is not verifiable.
2. It’s not needed. It’s obvious that the group who moved on got the most votes. Even with tonight’s episode, it’s obvious that they chose Since September to move on since New Priority was eliminated.
3. It’s not written properly. For example, it should be "Little Mix" instead of "the girls".

The album booklet doesn't credit Jessy Nelson on "Confetti". There is as scan of the album cover here. Additionally you can't claim that Apple Music has been used for the credits therefore that goes. It doesn't work like that, there is no consensus that Apple Music is more correct than Spotify or Tidal. Hello, I don't know if you've seen my reply to your comment so I'm going to add it here just in case you didn't.

The sources you have shown don't really prove anything. Spotify has all of their EPs/studio albums listed as albums, if you look under the section you'll see all of their EPs are there. There is no separate section for EPS. Apple Music as well, under albums it has Love Yourself Her and Map of the Soul Persona which is wrong because these are EPs. Also, Apple Music only goes up to Wings it doesn't have any of their older stuff. Bighit's website doesn't mention it being a full length album (studio) so you can't use that post as a source.

Also, Bighit has not called this album their fifth full length album and if it was they would've said it. You can't find anything with them saying those exact words. If you look at past articles/posts they call Map of the Soul 7 their 4th full length album, but they have yet to call Be their 5th. If anything if you don't want to call this an EP then it should as least be called a Deluxe Edition album. Since that's what international sites/Bighit are calling it.

Apple Music is usually accurate with labeling. Anything three songs or shorter is an single, anything four-seven songs is an EP and anything eight songs or above is an album. This isn’t just an Apple Music thing, this is universally what is usually accepted. Be has eight tracks, ergo it’s an album. Spotify on the other hand has singles and albums only (no EPs or mixtapes), so I agree when you say it’s not accurate.

Usually, you don’t need confirmation that it’s a full length album. If sources call Be any of the following we can assume it’s a studio album:

• LP (short for "Long play")
• Studio album
• Full length album
• Album

Rolling Stone calls it an LP, Apple Music calls in an album. Even Wikipedia agrees that this is an album. The page Extended play (long form of EP) says contemporary EPs generally contain a minimum of three tracks and maximum of six tracks.

To be honest, I don’t know how things are handled in the Kpop world of Wikipedia that well. I tend to stick to Blackpink and that’s all. But: I do know that The Album (Blackpink album) has eight tracks and is being labelled as the groups debut Korean-language studio album. Studio album, and the album has eight tracks. So I’m guessing by the reliability of the sources I’m providing coupled with the fact that other eight-track collections are labelled "albums", it’s safe to call this an album. Digital platforms, like Tidal, contain separate single listings with different covers for "Liar" and "Shameless". Just because they were later combined on a vinyl in December, does not change the fact they were separately released as the first and second singles from Romance on September 5. I've seen you recently classified Katy Perry's standalone releases 'Never Really Over', 'Small Talk', 'Harleys in Hawaii', and 'Never Worn White' as non-album singles even though they are included in the official track list, with two of them even being on the standard edition. Therefore, I am asking you why do you find this necessary, considering the fact there are many discographies listing initially standalone releases that were later included on deluxe editions as singles for their albums. Examples: Selena Gomez's pre-'Rare' releases, Sam Smith's pre-'Love Goes' releases, Ariana Grande's 'Focus'. @FlameSymphony98: hey. NRO, ST, HIH and NWW were released well in advance of any promotion for Smile. If you look at Template:Infobox song#album, you would see that it strongly advises you to not put the album in the "album" parameter.

consensus was made to not have the songs affiliated with the album at all. They were to not be listed as singles from smile on this page, this page, and any other pages that cover the songs. @LivelyRatification: hi. Thanks for leaving a message! Basically, the criteria for NSONG is if the song meets any of the criteria below, the song is probably notable:

1. The song has been ranked on national or significant music or sales charts
2. The song has won one or more significant awards or honors, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award
3. The song has been independently released as a recording by several notable artists, bands, or groups

Knowing this, the song has not charted, has not won any significant honours, and the song was not independently released. Sources are a part of it, though. I’m not discounting your point. Let’s look at other Taylor Swift examples so you can understand better.

• "Willow (song)" didn’t chart, didn’t win any awards, but was released independently by Swift. Therefore, the song is probably notable. Plus, the song has many sources proving its notability. Therefore, the song is definitely notable and an article was created.

• "Cardigan (song)" did chart, won many awards, and was released independently. The song also has many sources. Therefore, the song is more than notable.

• However, a song like "No Body, No Crime" didn’t chart (yet), didn’t win any awards (yet) and wasn’t released independently (it was part of an album release). The song may have sources, but it’s not notable. The reason for the (yet)s is that generally, newer songs aren’t notable. They gain notability later on. "The Lakes (song)" wasn’t as notable as "Cardigan" when the "Cardigan" article got created, but "The Lakes" was later notable enough for its own article.
