Karan Singh Grover

Hello the recent edits made in the personal life section are not correct. Can u please have a look. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.23.240.29 (talk) 07:18, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you should read the Hindustan times article properly, it is explained that he leaves the show because he wanted, and because the contract was over, grover also said that he could file a defamtion suit against the channel, also I don't think it is necessary to put the name of the person who replaced him. That is not relevant to his biographical page. That person continued with the show he left. He has no link to Karan Singh Grover what so ever. Please do reply soon. I did make an edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by I-am-unwritten (talkcontribs) 15:49, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I've begun my editing of your draft, but as it led me to question the quality of the infos, I would urge you not to publish it in main yet. I've asked the original author of most on the French article for clarifications, but, for example, I can't find any mention of "François Matt Cabaner" anywhere but on WP mirrors. There is a truncated version of his name there, so I don't say it bogus, but I'd like a confirmation first.

Regards, Esprit Fugace (talk) 10:11, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay, the author put the exact quote from his source in the article, it's much clearer now what he meant. I've finished editing your draft. Regards, Esprit Fugace (talk) 19:23, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ain't Nobody Got Time for That

why were my edits deemed "unconstructive"? Can my edits be reinstated? ~~Negritaboricua — Preceding unsigned comment added by Negritaborica (talkcontribs) 23:04, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) There are a couple of reasons why those edits were not helpful.
  • The first source of the "Fame in Virtual World" section predates the YouTube video and thus cannot discuss it. Thus it's irrelevant to this article.
  • The "Spread" section and the remainder of the "Fame in Virtual World" section were mostly based on
    primary sources
: The source for her appearance at X is a video of her at X, not an independent source discussing her appearances.
  • Even worse, parts of those sections were a mix of speculation and
    original research
, such as the comments about how one may be led "to assume she has in fact taken the reigns of the redistribustion of her image and catch phrases".
  • Knowyourmeme is not a reliable source by Wikipedia's standards; it's not subject to editorial oversight. Neither is YouTube.
  • The tone was inappropriate. Wikipedia articles should never address the reader ("if you go...").
For all of these reasons combined, your edit was reverted. Huon (talk) 00:18, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that seems to be gone. Thanks for tagging the copyvio. I've no idea whether you should have listed it on today's list or the older one, I'm sure someone will sort that out. But - just for another time, if ever there is one - you should really have notified the editor. There's a pre-formatted message for that purpose which appears in the copyvio template after you've placed it. That then gives that person 7 days to respond. Thanks for the note, Anna Frodesiak. While those edits are certainly unwanted, the ones by 115.69.215.26 and Mahabubul222 seem unintentional; they seem to have got confused between my userpage and Crystal Ball (fashion brand), which I declined at AfC. The one by Favonanizoonanian seems like vandalism. I'll keep your offer in mind and ask you to protect my userpage if this continues, but for now I think I will let it stay as it is. original research to me, something Wikipedia is not the place for. For example, "In many text books, for example[10] both mass and speed are increased when energy is added, which violates the principle of conservation of energy and is a confusion of frames of reference." Says who? Surely not the textbook you provide as an example? Or "G changes with elevation" - says who? Are you sure you aren't confusing the gravitational constant G with the gravity of Earth g? 18:09:35, 2 July 2014 review of submission by Steven C. Price

Steven C. Price 18:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

This process is confusing! I was "talking" with another editor, trying to address their concern, but then you rejected the re-submission without any explanation, and my conversation with the previous reviewer is still "hanging," as far as I know. That reviewer had said that if there was a media review then this would put the article in the "notable" category. I supplied a link to the media notice, but have not heard back. Unless your rejection is a statement in itself. Steven C. Price 18:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

WP:BIO, the notability guideline for biographical articles. Of your four references, Goodreads is user-submitted content, not a reliable source with editorial oversight; Riddle's website clearly is not an independent source on Riddle, and http://ebookfriendly.com/top-kindle-indie-bestsellers/ is some automatically-updated page which does not represent significant coverage - it doesn't even write a single sentence about Riddle. Those sources don't show that Riddle has been written about in some detail in reliable third-party sources, as would be required. In fact, authors of only self-published books are rather unlikely to meet Wikipedia's standards of notability. Huon (talk) 19:17, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply

reliable, independent sources such as newspapers or reputable trade magazines. For example, the Mirror article would be a good source for the allegation that the company systematically scams its customers - but somehow that didn't make its way into the draft. I wonder why not? Instead you wrote "WeBuyCarsToday stick with their word" - something explicitly contradicted by a reliable source which says company executives have ordered the employees to offer "up to 30 per cent LESS than the website price". Reginald's Tower

Hi, With regard to the above (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reginald%27s_Tower) I have a reference from a recently published book by the Waterford City historian and Director of the Waterford museum saying that "Reginald's Tower is the oldest civic building in Ireland" and it also states that "The tower is the only urban monument in Ireland to retain its Norse of Viking name" - McEneaney, Eamonn (2001). Discover Waterford. O'Brien Press.p. 70. (

.)

I would like to place that in the first paragraph since its present form depreciates its true story. I would like to replace the present text with those two lines. Nmwalsh (talk) 09:11, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews Hello FireflySixtySeven. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when

weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Hi,

You just failed my article, and I have questions.

First, I wrote the article because when I followed citations to this book, many of the citations were not in the book. So when I say these citations are not in the book, that is certainly verifiable, not opinion, nor is it original research. They are easily verified by text search.

As to the verifiable source. This book is Carnot's only book period, and Kelvin's section is his take, not mine, on Carnot's work. It is available from multiple sources, primarily google books, which are public and not being challenged for authenticity.

While the book is several hundred pages, I have read it several times, done multiple searches, and instead of finding text supporting various citations back to this work, instead I find many passages directly contradicting other wikipedia citations. The most notable contradictions I cited as a quote, also easily verifiable.

So I would much appreciate knowing in some more detail which sections you found unsupported, or being my opinion rather than the book's contents.

I'm more than happy to pair down the article to as pure a reflection of the book as necessary to satisfy guidelines. It would be helpful to know what parts of the article you found objectionable.

It was my intent to make clear article covering what the book did and did not say about come key points it is often cited for. It is often cited on wikepedia and elsewhere, and often incorrectly, and it is indeed those other wikipedia citations which are unverifiable, because they directly contradict Carnot and Kelvin's book.

thank you for taking the time to review my article.

William A. Kelley (talk) 04:26, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(
original research". For example, you claim, in a bold headline, "Unfortunately, many of those citations are incorrect." - says who? Yourself? The source for that section is the book itself, which I rather don't expect to discuss the correctness of citations to itself. There are multiple other parts in the draft I'd immediately tag with a {{citation needed}} tag. Take for example, "For a compressed air engine, the "Carnot Limit" is 0%, meaning they don't work at all." - says who? Wouldn't the correct explanation rather be that, while the compressed air engine works, it's not a heat engine? I could go on and point out other examples, but the basic problem is that your draft largely does not discuss Carnot's book, explaining its content, history, impact and assessment by the scientific community based on third-party sources, but rather is an essay that argues significant parts of modern physics are wrong ("Talk to your engineer, not your physicist, to improve your engines"), based on your personal interpretation. Notability Tag

Hello FireFly67, some time ago you added a notability tag to an article I submitted, title=Susan_Anderson_(psychotherapist). I have added additional references. Could you please take a look at the article again and remove the tag if the notability standard has now been met? Thank you. Livingmegler (talk) 01:07, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) At a glance I'm not sure those additional sources help much. You now have multiple sources for the same statements, but on the other hand, entire paragraphs still don't cite any sources at all - and those seem to be the paragraphs that actually focus on Anderson herself, not her work. And while I haven't checked them all, I don't think many of the sources discuss Anderson in any detail. For example, this source gives one quote and doesn't say more about Anderson than that she was the author of that quote. Huon (talk) 01:24, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would really like to know what the issue is with a non-bias version. Those who convert back to the conclusion of "thus proving herself to be out of touch" contribute no insight to what self-help books are in general. Ways to improve Hypnoanalysis

Hi, I'm Nick Moyes. FireflySixtySeven, thanks for creating Hypnoanalysis!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thank you for creating this article. As it stands, the article doesn't convey a notable branch of a medical science deserving of its own article. If you want to avoid criticism, and nomination for deletion, or merging with psychoanalysis or hypnosis, may I suggest you expand on it and demonstrate that there are enough reliable sources to show it's not just a fancy name for an existing process. I know nothing about the subject, but it surprises me that there is not already an article on it if it is a genuinely notable subject. Sorry to sound so negative, but hopefully this feedback will be of help. You might find that using your own user sandbox to develop an article before it goes 'live' can be a way of avoiding criticism before you've finished actually creating the content.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on
