Hello, Howenstein115. Bachman

Hey there! Thanks for your contribution to

featured list status. As such, we are trying to limit the list to a particular criteria - those whose made notable use of the Stratocaster and who have a source proving such. Your source for Bachman definitely indicates that he uses Strats a lot - but do you happen to have anything that indicates his use is notable? For example, has any journalist written about how his use of the Strat is notable? Thanks --Spike Wilbury talk 01:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bto gold albumcvr.jpg}

Thank you for uploading Image:Bto gold albumcvr.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an

image copyright tag
; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Eventually, the bots are going to tell you that "Pba logo 08.jpg" is orphaned. I created an SVG version of the logo, and placed it in the Professional Bowlers Association article. Whenever we start working on an info box for PBA members, we can use the SVG logo as part of it. Let me know if you find any problems with the log. Thanks! groink 06:58, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, that is a direct quote by both Michael Palin and Terry Jones from the Immaculate Edition DVD of The Life Of Brian, which is found under the "Special Features" section. These quotes are in the context of the discussion of who was to have the lead role of Brian in the film, Graham Chapman or John Cleese. While Cleese wanted the role, he later realized (and says so directly in the same feature) that he realized that Chapman was in fact a better actor and the choice of giving Chapman the lead role was the correct one. I work there and am well aquainted with the history of the current building as well as the former locations of First UM/(formerly known as) the Methodist Episcopal Church of Mount Clemens' congregational meeting places... really, 'sorry to be critical... Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Wanted to explain WarGames revert

Hi, I wanted to explain why I reverted your recent [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=WarGames&diff=362851952&oldid=361937141 edit to the WarGames article.

Plot descriptions
should, like the rest of Wikipedia, be tightly written with nothing extraneous. My objections to your edits are:

  • ", over her protests": I don't view Mack's initial reluctance to get her grade changed as important; she asks for it to be done later regardless. What is important that Lightman is able to do such things and that she is involved; in other words, mentioning her is the hook to mentioning her again later.
  • "through library research": How Lightman learns about Falken's background is immaterial.
  • "submarines": Should be singular.
  • "Soviet...""which does prove to be nonexistent": No need to mention Soviet again since it's the only attack being discussed, and "nonexistent" alone is sufficient. Also, you removed a
Harvard comma in the sentence for no reason. YLee (talk) 20:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. While most of your recent edits appear to be well-intended, removing "an unprecedented" or changing "more than" to "tens of" probably does not fall into the category of edits that can be properly classed "minor". I took no action on the article itself but wanted to let you know this could cause trouble for you in other places. — UncleBubba T @ C ) 19:51, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Two and a Half Men, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page J. D. Walsh. Level of detail in articles

Hello, Howenstein. It's great you're making so many useful contributions to bowling-related articles. I just wanted to let you know that some of your edits include substantially more detail than is proper for Wikipedia articles. Articles should include information that would be of interest to readers years or decades into the future; see "enduring notability" in

WP:NOTNEWS. For example, in your recent edits to the Danielle McEwan article, putting in scores of individual games and which bowler she beat is too much detail, and as a courtesy I'm letting you know I trimmed the content you added (as well as added an archive link to preserve the sourcing for posterity). Best wishes. —RCraig09 (talk) 16:27, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Alice Cooper into Alice Cooper (band). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication.
