Nomination of Cassey Ho for deletion

  • Thanks. I agree. Unfortunately, I notice that many of the editors who vote in AfD have either created no articles or very few. This article would never have been nominated for deletion if I hadn't put it up for a DYK nomination. I'm pretty sure a couple more reliably sourced articles will come out on her this year and then I think it will be safe to mover her back to article space. I want to avoid another AfD if I can. I don't consider this arguing, I want to get it right one way or the other. I'm looking at the LA Times article that the IP linked to. I can't find anything about showing a video in a class room or mention of Embree (just did a search for key words in the article and could not find them). You're right, but I'm not dumping irrelevant negative content. The fact that Emmert is involved in three different lawsuits is absolutely an important part of his notability. He's being sued. I'm not familiar with Mare Emmert, but what you need to do is add content from clearly reliable and unbiased sources and not form Penn State or legal documents. Here is a list of good sources I see: [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11].. Only state what the articles assert and don't provide your own interpretations (it looks like you don't need too). So, if you take everything from articles such as these, you should be ok. Also, try to provide balance if that can be done. Is there anyone defending his actions? What responses has he made. Keep in mind the goal is to provide a neutral account. I don't know what an SPA stands for but I created the account because of malicious, unsubstantiated attacks against INSEAD. I am closely tied to the subject but that doesn't make me related to INSEAD. The statement that existed had citations from reliable sources and hence, should not be removed at all. And that statement is universally used for all top business schools globally (please refer to The Wharton School of Business and The Kellogg School of Management for a few pointers.) I have a feeling that you are actually biased against INSEAD and your posts and actions need to be monitored by others closely. --האורים והתומים (talk)

Thanks for your work on this. The bit being "edit-warred" is plainly promotional: the citations, while plentiful in number do not actually support the claim ("one of the best") at all; they merely mention INSEAD and a number of people with lots of money. Meanwhile, it would be good to see more *content* added: for a start, how is this name pronounced? I can guess the original French pronunciation as the bits of the words it came from, but what to people call it in English? Is there even complete consistency? To answer your question, the citations are 100% reliable and all from the authoritative journals such as The Financial Times and Bloomberg Businessweek. The edit war you speak of should not even happen to begin with. The facts that the faculty is second to none, the graduates of the school are global leaders and the recruiters at large consider HBS, Stanford, INSEAD and LBS as the best, all support the claim. I'm not sure how it is pronounced. Even the ratings are strange. The ones have rate it high have no explanation, almost like they are adds. From what little I have read about INSEAD is that they get there students into good business schools, but little evidence that they are highly rated themselves. Wikipedia has policies that prohibit putting content into biographies of living people that do not have reliable sources. As you can see, that is essential to protect the person in question and to create an encyclopedia. So, has any of this been published in say a local newspaper? I take it that you are close to the family, there must be reporters interested in her story? Proof of Charles Gaines being born in the state of Louisiana can be found in Ancestry.com census records . If your looking for proof like a birth certificate that is impossible. In Louisiana in 1861 slaves were considered property not human beings and were not issued birth certificates. Slavery was abolished once the last Confederate units in Louisiana surrendered to Union troops in May of 1865. Charles Gaines her father was a slave on that plantation. He does not have a birth record because he is considered property at that time. The exact date that Charles died is unknown as he died before Social Security started up in 1935 it will be hard to find. It sounds like there is a very interesting story here. However, editors on Wikipedia can't do the original research for articles. If this information is published in a newspaper, then it can go in, but until writes about it and publishes it in a reliable source such as a newspaper, book, or magazine. What could be more reliable than an official government document from the state of Arkansas. Do you realize all information is original research. If a reporter does a story on someone he does original research as background for a story. If someone writes a book on true events he does original research as background for the book. If a magazine does a story on a football player it does original research on what the football player has done. Anytime someone adds a thought or idea and puts it on paper it is original research.
