Livengood, AK

Hey JK. I noticed that you have a picture from Livengood, AK on Wiki. I was wondering if you could get a picture of the CO in Livengood. I would love to see even just the outside of this building.

The Livengood CO runs a Redcom Labs MDX384 switch. This type of switch allows in-band signalling. Livengood happens to be the last CO in North America that still accepts in-band signalling. For this reason, I feel that a picture of the Livengood CO would be appropriate for the Livengood, Blue box, Phreaking and/or 2600 article(s).

This CO will probably be upgraded to a DMS type switch in the near future due to the population burst expected from the recent discovery of gold under the town. It would be really cool if you could get some pictures of the MDX while it is still active but as I said before, even a pic from outside would be welcomed.

I know this is out of your "scope of interest" but I'm sure that many people would appreceiate a picture of the last North American telco "toy".

Thanks very much, Meshif420 (talk) 08:41, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good article you created

Congratulations on having an article you created (1981 Peach Bowl (January))and are the principal author of acheive "good article" status. I was at that game and being able to read about it in detail was a heart-warming experience. I remember that it got very cold after the sun started to set. My wife and I kept trying to stay in the sunshine because I was a little under-dressed. We had migrated to the upper northeast corner of the stadium by the time the game ended — the place where the very last rays of sunshine had been. I don't know whether I was happier Miami won or happier to get in the car and turn on the heater. Cheers!--Hokeman (talk) 22:03, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Any chance we'll be seeing articles from you again? Looks like you've been busy based on minimal edits the past year. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 05:43, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with that, glad to see you're back. I actually run the topics process now so you shouldn't have any further problems with it, lol. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:28, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Reminders

  • Place these at the top of the article or section
  • Use {inuse} (while actively editing new articles) so those well meaning but annoying people who monitor new page creation will not destoy subsequent edits, and {underconstruction} (for brief periods between major edits during the construction phase)
  • Use {merge} for short articles --> merge into a larger one
  • Use {npov} for bias; also used are {POV-section} and {POV-intro}
  • Use {Inappropriate tone} and/or {Copyedit} for amateurish, poorly-worded articles
  • Use {Expert-subject|subject name (e.g. military history)|date} when article needs expert attention
  • Use {reqphoto} on the talk page to request photos be placed in articles
  • Use {expandsect} when a section requires expansion
  • Use {prune} when an article or section needs condensing, summarizing or reconstructing
  • Use {lead too long} when the introductory section is too long
  • Use {refimprove} for lack of verifiability
  • Use {cleanup-refs} when footnotes are of inconsistent style
  • Use {cleanup-link rot} when bare urls are used rather than proper in-line citations
  • Use {cleanup-rewrite} when article does not comport with Wikipedia's quality standards
  • Use {cleanup-reorganize} when the article shows promise, i.e. good information just poorly organized
  • Use {nofootnotes} when articles contain external links or list of references but no in-text citations
  • Use {timefact} when a chronology source is needed
  • Use {notenglish} when encountering an article written in a foreign language on english Wikipedia
  • Use {citations broken} to tag an entire article or section in the same manner {dead link} is used as an individual tag

Place these in-line

  • Use {fact} for citation needed and {failed verification} for not in citation given
  • Use {clarify} for text that is difficult to understand
  • Use {dubious} when something just sounds too much like a crock
  • Use {who} when you come across a phrase like "Some observers have said..." or "They say..."
  • Use {says who} in similar instances as above where no source is mentioned
  • Use {weasel words} for evasive, ambiguous, misleading content
  • Use {lopsided} when an opinion needs balancing
  • Use {notincitation} when a citation doesn't cover the stated information.
  • Use {convert} for translating figures between metric and Imperial

2010 Michigan Wolverines GA Review

For the record, I am the other main author of the article, so I hope you don't mind my input as well. Thanks for the review, your comments look extremely engaging. SCS100 (talk) 23:52, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for jumping in your review, but I do think the article should mention the All-star game appearances by the players. I don't know what you think about this issue.--

Basically, I added suggestions because of my knowledge of Michigan football, but I did not review it myself because of how much Michigan content I create, which makes me impartial.--

I was also the primary GAC editor of the 2009 article.--

No problem Tony. The more input we get the better. SCS100 (talk) 07:06, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that I have fixed everything you asked. Let me know if there is anything else that needs to be fixed. Thanks again for the review. SCS100 (talk) 18:36, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks for the review. I added the reference asked about but I'm not sure where the pronoun is that was confusing if you point it out I'll clarify the sentence. Thanks again. --Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 06:23, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FAC for 2010 PapaJohns.com Bowl

Hello and welcome back! I wanted to tell you that your Virginia Tech bowl game articles and topic were the major reason I started editing Wikipedia in the first place. I have been working for the past year on creating a Connecticut Huskies bowl game topic similar to your Virginia Tech bowl game one; naturally this topic is far smaller in scale. I have a bowl game article, 2010 PapaJohns.com Bowl, currently nominated at FAC. This article has gone through two FACs previously but has failed to be promoted, mainly due to prose issues especially associated with the Team selection section. If you could take a look at the article and provide your feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. The FAC can be found here. Grondemar 21:39, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again for your detailed comments. I believe I have addressed all of them; if you could come back and comment I would appreciate it. Grondemar 02:17, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've gotten through your second round of comments; if you could re-review, I'd appreciate it. Grondemar 05:17, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Empire of Brazil FAC nomination

JK, I'm here to tell you that I'm grateful for your review and support. Empire of Brazil is now a featured article. Thank you very much! Cheers, --Lecen (talk) 18:15, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rosendale trestle FAC

Just wanted to let you know I addressed your comments at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Rosendale trestle/archive1. You asked a lot of questions that I also wondered about when researching the trestle, and I really wish there was more published material. I'm hoping that an engineering report comes out soon, or that when the Century House Historical Society opens in the spring, I can convince them to publish online whatever information they have on the bridge.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm just absolutely thrilled to have inspired you to contribute to the Children's Museum! It's really great to come upon Wikipedians who have a history with the museum and to see them excited about the Wikipedia collaboration. Thank you so much! We will be writing a case study specifically about the carousel article, the process of collaborating to get it to FA, and the results. Would you be OK with us including this as one of our (more surprising :) results? Thank you again for sharing your memories! I'll be sure to keep you in the loop with other announcements.
