China Tobacco article

You left a comment on my talk page regarding rolling back your edits to China Tobacco. Your comments to me appeared a bit snide. Your edits had been previously flagged by a bot as possible vandalism:

  • 06:20, 24 December 2014‎ ClueBot NG (talk | contribs)‎ m . . (9,490 bytes) (-27)‎ . . (Reverting possible vandalism by Muzzleflash to version by Wikiklrsc. False positive? Report it. Thanks, ClueBot NG. (2072438) (Bot)) (undo)

Your only edits to the English Wikipedia are to

State Tobacco Monopoly Administration
and you just started editing under this id "Muzzleflash" December 24, 2014. Fair enough. In your edits you moved material out to other places, revised content re: China Tobacco.
You've restored your edits after my rollback.
If I've made an error, which I likely have, I apologize. So apologies.
I've been editing Wikipedia without trouble since January 2005.

February 2015

welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Sinocare. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page
.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.

As I said in my edit summary, a medical journal article is not a good source for economic info. Additionally, you appear to be confused about how editing works here.

WP:BURDEN is on you to justify it on the talk page, not on them to justify its removal. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 06:45, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply
]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sinocare. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's

WP:3RR rule. You can be blocked for that John from Idegon (talk) 08:33, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply

Re:Deletion

There is a trinity at work here, so to explain why your article was axed you need to look at three points.

First, notability. Your article had notability, the company was considered worthy to have a wikipedia article and the subject was permitted under all relevant policy and guideline material for the site. Accordingly, then, on this ground the article earned a point for keep.

The second of the three points is

WP:NOTABILITY
. Significance, on the other hand, is not a subsection of notability, its an independent barometer to measure why an article should stay. What has it done? What does it show? In your article's case, the material failed the significance criteria. So an independent company in China makes pharmaceuticals. Why should we care? Did they have a Nobel prize for work in the field? Are they sole supplier to the army in times of war? Is the product patented? The absence of any information of this nature left the article loaded with simple statements and no real encyclopedic material. Which brings us to the last point:

Advertisement. Without the material to show significance the article had only a few lines that resulted in its being read not like an encyclopedia article but an ad in the paper, and ads are not permitted on Wikipedia because

Wikipedia is not a web host or an advertisement service
. Having broke even over the first two points, this point sunk the article by bringing the tally against it 2-1 in favor of deletion.

Now, if you disagree with the reasons provided and would like the article restored, I can do that; however if it is restored it will be nominated for deletion, which will result in a minimum 7-day period of discussion about the article and its value to the site. If you would rather not have the article up at afd, I could restore it to user subpage so as to allow you to work on the article until such a time as it reaches a point that it can go into the article space without risk of deletion. I could also put the article over at the articles for creation section of Wikipedia, where a team of people can monitor the article's progress and offer feedback to help out with the article's development. Lastly, if you want to challenge the deletion directly, you can go to Wikipedia:Deletion review and file an appeal to the community to see if they agree with you. If they do, they will restore the article to the article space exactly as it was before it was deleted. Lastly, you have the unattractive but ever present option to do nothing with these venues and simply leave the situation as is. I await your response on the course of action you wish to take, should you decide to petition for your article back. TomStar81 (Talk) 12:09, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the article and moved it to the draft space, you can find it at Draft:Sinocare. Good luck on the reworking of the article, and I look forward to having it out and retained here soon. TomStar81 (Talk) 09:59, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
