A reliable source that can be checked, but go ahead and re-add it if that was what NBC commentators said, since NBC is considered a reliable source. I've just heard too many blatant lies and misinformation coming from NBC commentators like Scott Hamilton and Sandra Bezic; I personally don't consider their comments to be reliable sources of information. As far as I can recalled (looks like I made that map 12[!] years ago), it was a map of the states who had governors up for reelection in 2008. Once the election was over, someone replaced the map with one that showed the results. As such the map I so lovingly made does not appear to have a use any longer. Hi PLandu,

I am the original editor of the Golden Sheen Sapphire page. As you have noted, there have been many edits and undo edits to this page. I suspect a single individual is responsible using different IP address, and that they are making the changes with malicious intent. My original page contained basic facts I could find references for citing publications from reputable sources.

The changes the IP editor is making state that Gold Sheen Sapphire is the same as Star Sapphire - this is incorrect. They are two different types of sapphire. Gold Sheen Sapphire has been given its own designation as a type of corundum by independent gemological labs, which I have cited. Other information they change is the source mine and alternate names, and discovery date, however there are not cited sources to support this assertion. Gold Sheen Sapphire was unknown and unnamed until the GIA lab in Bangkok determined the material was different to other cabundrum varieties in 2013 - as cited in my original page.

The IP editor is causing damage to the reputation of Gold Sheen Sapphire, and material damage to those involved in the sapphire industry.

As per the Wikipedia policy, I have tried to contact the IP editor via their talk page to ask them to stop and discuss the issues. However, as they keep changing IP address, the contacts attempts remained unanswered.

Thank you for edit locking the page to verified logins only. I hope that this will allow sensible discussion and resolution.

I'll be the first to admit I know nothing about gemmology. I was initially alerted to the page because of formatting errors, and saw that some of the disruptive editing and edit wars kept bringing them back. As long the edits don't run afoul of wikipedia guidelines and are well-sourced from notable sources, I'm fine with it. I see that you sell this stuff, which means that you know a thing or two about gemmology. I'll continue to follow the page and maybe learn a thing or two. I have reverted the page to the basic information and I think fixed up some of the formatting errors. There are probably still some errors that I will be happy to fix if you let me know what they are. I am not sure how to deal with the assertions being made by the IP address only edits on the page. For example claiming Gold Sheen Sapphire is the same as Star Sapphire, or that Gold Sheen Sapphire was being mined on 1967. They supply references for these, but they just show that there is a type of sapphire called 'star sapphire' and that there were sapphire mines in Kenya (mining yellow sapphire) in 1967 - both of those things are true, but it is incorrect to claim that they are both Gold Sheen Sapphire. It is like claiming a whale is a fish and showing a reference that both things live in the sea.

The change deleted lots of carriage returns, which messed up the formatting of the article. Paragraph breaks were gone and section headings were broken. I couldn't even see what was changed content-wise because the formatting was so changed. Hi Plandu, Disappointed you should say that. I am wanting to rewrite the cottage cheese article so that was the first of many edits! I removed the two sentences from the lede as I explained in the comments, but let me reiterate:

1. "Cottage cheese dates back to the ancient Mesopotamia 3100–510 BC, where it was first found accidentally made in a sheep's stomach bag." The references used in the article do not corroborate this. The gourmet cheese website merely states this method as a possible discovery route, and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center only mentions this is a possible legend. The specific dates mentioned are not found in either source. Either way, it seems impossible to prove, and simply wrong, as evidence for cheese making precedes this date by thousands of years.

2. The stuff about WW1 is sourced in the article to something in the USA National Archives, but this document does not mention cheese at all, let alone cottage cheese.

I also left a note about my actions on the talk page of the article. Please be more careful or explain yourself!

There has been a lot of edit warring over the synopsis and everything else on the page, and I'm just (perhaps unjustifiably) worried that it's all going to start anew with an analytic, synthetic, interpretive synopsis. I think the gist of what's written synopsis should be covered and covered thoroughly and at length in the reception and criticism sections. I don't know how to get the synopsis to place where it doesn't fail NPOV in one way or the other. I guess you could revert back to what you've got and see what shakes out. I think you’ve misunderstood me. As I said, the best solution is to have a synopsis. That’s why I said that on second thought we should leave it while discussing on the talk page. You’ve also misunderstood what I said about the MoS. I was quoting the part of the MoS that the synopsis as written doesn’t conform to. I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear. I am well aware that Wikipedia is not censored, but it also must be NPOV and adhere to the MoS. I will continue to try to operate in good faith and without anger or undue sarcasm. I look forward to continuing to improve this page and others alongside you. I hope you have restored your last version of the synopsis so we can work from that.
