Mistake on edit summary

I accidentally said on edit summary on South African Airways Flight 295 saying “Both black boxes ARE flight data recorders in my concern that I meant to say “Both black boxes ARENT flight data recorders” just saying that so that people can understand. I removed it cause it showed up as a redlink, but I see now that if my timing would have been a bit later this wouldn't have been the case. Oh well! Jay D. Easy (t • c) 14:25, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts
. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

I've just popped back to say don't let the fact that I've moved something you were working on into draft ever stop you from trying to improve it and then submitting for review. Looking at a few of your contributions, I sense that you're writing from your own personal experience or knowledge, rather than basing your writing upon
Articles for creation. Noting above your Draft:List of aviation accidents and incidents envolving a Boeing 747, I'd wondered whether you'd actually seen Boeing 747 hull losses and considered discussing the merits of a separate article on that talk page. Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of aviation accidents and incidents involving CFIT. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. 9/11 flight paths

I've reverted your undiscussed removals of the graphic representations of the flight paths. Did you look at the files? "Original by the 9/11 commission - Manually remade in Inkscape by Mysid after File:911 commission AA11 path.png" In general, helpful graphics of that kind do not require referencing if their provenance is reasonably obvious, as it was in this case. What you could do is look it up in the 9/11 report and reference that, but even FA review (and two articles you removed useful graphicvs from were FAs) does not require that level of referencing. Don't make changes like that to FAs without discussion. The graphics are an integral part of FA status, and images aren't required to be referenced. Speedy deletion nomination of John Por Borderie

Hello, The person who should not be named

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged John Por Borderie for deletion, because it seems to be vandalism or a hoax.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
