Force C is a problem we should have links to the 1/2 battalions involved at the moment the links are to the areas. Do you have any knowledge of the correct regiment names and if so do they have articles ? --Jim Sweeney (talk) 11:45, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't 5th Light Infantry be added to Force C? They were deployed to East Africa after the mutiny. --HistorianBell 08:28, 7 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by HistorianBell (talk • contribs)
- I have always seen them listed as the 5th Light Infantry (e.g. Farwell, Armies of the Raj, Hopkirk, Like Hidden Fire, and on http://www.britishempire.co.uk/forces/armyunits/indianinfantry/5thltinf.htm). Apparently, pre 1903 reform, they were the 5th Bengal (Light) Infantry (earlier they had been 5th Bengal Native (Light) Infantry (1861-1885) and originally 2nd Battalion, 21st Bengal Native Infantry(1803 - 1824)). I think the only Mahratta Light Infantry during the First World War were 103, 105, and 110th Maharatta Light Infantry (2 of which were with Force D)(reposted here as well in case). --HistorianBell 09:44, 7 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by HistorianBell (talk • contribs)
Here's the citation: "The 5th Indian Light Infantry was reconstituted and sent to fight in Africa, first in the Cameroons and then in the East Aftican campaign." -Byron Farwell, Armies of the Raj: From the Great Indian Mutiny to Independence: 1858-1947 (New York: W.W. Norton and Company, 1989) p. 244. That would make them part of Force C, I think, as a reinforcement. Also, take a look at this thesis http://cgsc.cdmhost.com/cgi-bin/showfile.exe?CISOROOT=/p4013coll2&CISOPTR=65&filename=66.pdf#search=%22german%20east%20africa%3ECISOSEARCHAL%22, the author has the OOB for Force B. --HistorianBell 18:21, 7 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by HistorianBell (talk • contribs)

HEY!
Please please please do not just add articles with NO TEXT. Please I know you are trying to help Wikipedia by giving notable subjects but do not just add articles with a template and no words! People will delete that otherwise. So please add words and a reference to prove the events are real and not made up and make everyone happy! Kind regards.Calaka (talk) 13:25, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- It is OK. I just hate seeing people add a lot of content on Wiki then the next day they see it all deleted because they did not follow the minimum requirements for Wikipedia (i.e. a cat, a reference (to establish notability), WORDS, and to wikify the article). Happy editing.Calaka (talk) 13:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Burmese Indians
Hi. The text says The term "Burmese Indian" refers to a broad range of ethnic groups from South Asia, most notably from present-day Bangladesh and India. Shouldn't that include Nepal (there is a sizable gurkha population in Burma, if I'm not mistaken.) I'm assuming that you're an expert on this :-) --RegentsPark (sticks and stones) 17:02, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- For a 'not an expert', you're doing a great job with the article! --RegentsPark (sticks and stones) 12:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, adding synonyms and minor alterations in the sentences won't relieve the plagiarism issue. As it is currently written, the text will need to be deleted as a copyright violation. Indian Army during World War II
Yes - sounds good at the moment I am working through the List of regiments of the Indian Army (1903) trying to create articles for all of them. I did the cavalry some time ago and have now started on the infantry. Sorry to say most are just stubs (see 43rd Erinpura Regiment for example) but at least its a start. --Jim Sweeney (talk) 13:40, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

- Thankyou for your edits and efforts here both of you for this under-documented area. Can I politely please request you to add sources for the List of Regiments - preferably hardcopy books - and the individual regiments? It's much more difficult for others who come afterwards to do so. As a start, can you tell me where you got the list of regiments in 1903? Best regards Buckshot06(prof) 10:33, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Then you remove the other source, because it's not being used. But Jim's just said that the list has regiments that were not around in 1903, and thus it's a composite listing from more than one source. Deviations from the main source should be footnoted, yes. Category fauna of India
Hi Vinay, just a note. There have been too many attempts to do category fauna of XXX country and there is a problem since most of these are too slipshod. Additionally it is very difficult to cite or see the validty of the classification. List of fauna of XXX is usually a lot better since there one can add citations and sources. The problem is perhaps due to one IP editor who frequently adds Fauna of Pakistan and keeps declaring certain animals/plants/bacteria etc. as national xxx of Pakistan and so forth. The current categories do not serve much purpose since List of reptiles of South Asia is a better option for people to browse from. Shyamal (talk) 08:20, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Some of your edits are minor, others are clearly not. It would probably better not to mark any minor if you aren't sure of the difference. Doug Weller talk 18:08, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Call of Cthulhu (role-playing game) into History of role-playing games. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g.,
copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:41, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
