Earl of Cromer
Appearance
Earl of Cromer is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, held by members of the British branch of the Anglo-German Baring banking family.
It was created in 1901 for
Northumberland.[3] These titles are also in the Peerage of the United Kingdom
.
The first Lord Cromer was the son of
British Ambassador to the United States
between 1971 and 1974. In 2010 the titles are held by the latter's son, the fourth Earl, who succeeded in 1991.
Evelyn Baring, 1st Baron Howick of Glendale, was the third son of the first Earl.
The family seat is Drayton Court, near Drayton, Somerset.[citation needed]
