A matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor (MMPI,
antiangiogenic
effects. They may be both endogenous and exogenous.
The most notorious endogenous metalloproteinases are
tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). There are also cartilage-derived angiogenesis inhibitors
.
