Neutrality
The overall tone of this article reads as a GOProud press release, not a wikipedia article. The writing needs to be cleaned up, and many parts reworded to reflect a more neutral point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.78.139.212 (talk) 17:37, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

New Introduction
As part of the U.S. Education program that Wikipedia is sponsoring, I am revising the page with the end goal of having no mistakes or errors in citation.
"GOProud" is an organization made up of gay, lesbian, and transgendered conservatives along with those who support them. The conservative philosophy shared by its members include belief in small government, individual liberty, capitalism, and a strong national defense.[1] Created by Christopher R. Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia who were both once a member of the Log Cabin Republicans. The goal of this political organization is to "restore conservative majorities in 2012 and bring a conservative to the White House in 2012." - Barron [2] GOProud" has a number of supports from popular conservatives in America. Andrew Breitbart is the purveyor of Breitbart.com, BigGovernment.com, and Breitbart.tv, all successful conservative news outlets. Andrew Breitbart is on the "GOProud" Advisory Council. Ann Coulter is an outspoken conservative, syndicated columnist, comedian, and author. Coulter wrote 8 New York Times best-sellers and is a commentator for FOX News. Coulter is on the Advisory Council for "GOProud". Tammy Bruce is a syndicated radio host and political commentator. Bruce was also a co-star in the recent documentary on Sarah Palin, The Undefeated Released in July, 2011. Bruce is a supporter and "GOProud' and the former Chair on the Advisory Council. - Prior to making any changes, please make sure to read, review, and follow the instructions for lead sections found Manual of Style. The purpose of the lead section is to summarize the lead points of the article. Honestly, much of what you have suggested above removes vital information, while including content that does not belong in the lead. Feel free to contact me if you have questions. Revised lead section
A revised copy of the introduction seeking to be used on the mainspace of the page...
GOProud is an organization made up of gay, lesbian, and transgendered individuals along with their supporters. The conservative political philosphy is shared amoung the members. GOProud has prominent conservative figures on the board of directors and the avisory council. The organization stirred controversy from its conception. Two former
- I would recommend focusing on other areas of the article. The current lead is neutral, well-written, and accurately introduces the subject, while summarizing the article content. Perhaps you could review the maintenance tags at the top and revise the article content to ensure compliance. Let me know if you need help or have questions. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 22:52, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- I think the proposed intro is too soft and feel-good and not encyclopedic enough—not enough hard factual stuff. For instance, where's the 527 nonprofit info? Binksternet (talk) 22:58, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- There is a need to take out Tammy Bruce because she is no longer on the advisory board. Thanks for the comments. New to Wikipedia and doing it for a school project. Thanks again! MikeySwetz (talk) 02:40, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Rough Body Copy for Article
Below is my attempt at re writing the body of the article to help eliminate some of the issues that are presented and to fix the errors noted in the maintenance box.
- Here's my thoughts.
- Mission section is a copyright violation and simply serves to promote. see WP:MISSION
- https://www.consuls.org is not a source or citation. See WP:CITEfor information about proper citations. It's equivalent to saying "I found the source at the library".
- Remove the BOD and Advisory Board. Wikipedia is not an extension of an organization's website. Information of this nature is constantly changing and is unencyclopedic in nature. Wikipedia is the place to present information about notable organizations. Why is GOProud significant, important, and notable? Present a background of the organization and accomplishments. Establish why this organization is worthy of notice, then support the summation with significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the organization itself.
- Don't remove the talk page comments of other editors and don't forget to sign your comments. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 21:02, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- i dont remember knowingly deleting another users comments. also, if i remove the BOD and Advisory, mission, and fix the sources, which i found through consuls but i have to get the direct source, would this article be enough to fix the maintenance problems? thanks MikeySwetz (talk) 21:40, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

CPAC 2010
CPAC Is the annual political conference attended by conservative activists and elected officials from across the United States. Controversy struck GOProud in 2010 at the Conservative Political Action Conference. The New organization was planning on attending the convention of conservative minds. The Family Research Council was the first to start an uproar and boycott CPAC over the GOProud invite. [4] Groups that followed the Family Research Council in boycotting included Concerned Women of America, American Principles Project, Center for Military Readiness, Liberty Council, and National Organization for Marriage. [5] These conservative groups worry that adding gays will weaken the movement.
Ryan Sorba, chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom and author of, The "Born Gay" Hoax, attempted to derail support for GOProud at CPAC. During his speech at the convention, he condemned GOProud for entering the conference but was eventually booed by the audience. [6]
