Glaringly inconsistent

It is glaringly inconsistent (and seemingly racist) to capitalize one "race" and uncapitalize another "race" in the same article. Consensus is against requiring the capitalization of "black", so articles should be internally consistent about designating "races" for capitalization or not. 2600:8800:1880:68:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 17:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The policy you cited,
MOS:PEOPLANG, does not say that: "Ethno-racial "color labels" may be given capitalized (Black and White) or lower-case (black and white); there is no consensus against what is sometimes perceived as inconsistency in the same article (Black but white)." It includes a footnote detailing the community discussions that led to this guidance; would suggest starting there if you think the policy should be different. Why do you feel the need to enforce inconsistency when (1) there is no consensus for it and (2) at least one editor is objecting to it? (NB: what I cited is not a policy but a guideline.)2600:8800:1880:68:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 17:58, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well I haven’t actually; I see you’ve made Black lower case and I haven’t reverted. However Black/white is current standard usage, for example by the Columbia Journalism Review. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:07, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
WP style guide was also updated to Black/white last year, I believe. Kingsif (talk) 20:15, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Actually no, no it wasn't. 2600:8800:1880:68:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 17:19, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
