United Nations Forces in the Korean War

After the outbreak of Korean War on 25 June 1950, 16 countries (deploying / arrival order): United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, France, New Zealand, Philippines, Turkey, Thailand, South Africa, Greece, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ethiopia and Colombia provided combat troops for South Korea and they organized the United Nations Forces.[1]

Source of statistics in this article is the official book about Korean War statistics published by South Korean Ministry of National Defense Institute for Military History in June 2014.[2][3]

Statistics in this article may differ from the statistics of each countries.

United States

  • As of 2022, according to the list of Wall of Remembrance in the Korean War Veterans Memorial, killed soldiers were 36,634.[5][6] But this figure fluctuate depending on the ongoing correction of list.[7][8]
  • As of 2021, United States Department of Veterans Affairs[9]
    • Killed: 36,574 (Battle Deaths: 33,739, Other Deaths: 2,835)
    • Wounded: 103,284
