You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (138.163.106.72) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Dear 138.163.106.72,

Request reason:

I always strive to add useful content to wikipedia. I know that others sometimes do not, But I thing that is deplorable. I do not recall what it is that I put as an edit to the Creation Science page, but I can assure you, anything I added was designed to be as objective and helpful as possible. Creation Science is a hot-button issue for many, and I presume I saw an inappropriately perjorative assertion in the topic, and tried to make it more objective. If I did that, I would expect that the individual who added the biased assertion took umbrage, and complained. But I feel I have been wronged. Please contact me at <email redacted for your privacy>. If you will unblock me, I will register to make contentions like this in the future easier to resolve. I am sure wikipedia would like to serve ALL individuals who come here for information, which will require that some controversial text will need to be contained in some topics. That is not an indication of a problem, but the interplay of differeing viewpoints in the marketplace of ideas. (In my opinion...)

Request reason:

I am astonished at your statement, "Deleting whole sections of pertinent, sourced content is vandalism." If I did such a thing it was a complete accident -- I would never do that intentionally; I am not a censor. I recognize full well that "what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander." If I can delete what others say, others could equally easily delete what I say. Your statement, "which you also warred about," is equally astonishing to me--I mean, when I read the things that you wrote I could only marvel, and say "What?!? When? How?!?" I presume that "warring" refers to back and forth editing and reediting by two or more individuals, and I don't recall ever having done that, either. Now, I know you’re busy (we all are--welcome to the 21st century...), but gee!, I really would like to see what it is that you saw that has brought us to this point either here or at <email redacted for your privacy>. Perhaps I did do what you are saying, and have forgotten about it; if this is the case, seeing the details would remind me. I am eager not to be thought a vandal (or to be a vandal in reality!). Additionally, I generally am the sort of person who would try to get rules I disagreed with changed, rather than just ignoring them. But I read in the the pages this incident has brought me to see, that I otherwise would not have read, that it is possible for others to be associated with the same IP address. If this is something done by others, that I had no hand in, I want to clear my reputation. So seeing what you are referring to might serve that purpose as well.

Decline reason:

You may not be aware of it, but all edits you, or others, make under this IP address are logged at

{{unblock|Thank you for that link to activity by this IP address. Most of the articles that have activity are articles I have never even looked at. I looked back over this IP address as reported here, seeing that the addr has been blocked before for vandalism. In those earlier blockings, there were some details, which, again, left me with my chin in my lap in astonishment.

I am at a US Naval facility, and I am presuming that the IP address is that of a router, rather than my workstation. (Not much I can do about that!)

I would like to create an account. It seems to me that I tried that following this current block for vandalism, and was prevented. Is there a way that I can be rescued from this charge of vandalism (and from association with this vandal behvior) so that I can create an account?

I, myself, found the edits I saw (and I only looked at a few) to be testy, peevish, and doctrinaire, and I do not want to be associated with that sort of behavior. The edits reminded me of nothing so much as a young man (younger than 25), thinking that he has all the answers. I am more than twice that age, and I do not behave in that way! I have strong views, which is what I feel all thinking individuals ought to do. But I hold my view because I believe they are right. Therefore, I believe that they will "win the day" through being presented, not through censoring others. As I said earlier, I recognize that if I can censor others, others will be able to censor me.

So I am waiting on tenter hooks to hear whether you can provide me with a means to solidly separate my reputation from that of the vandal who has been so busy at this IP address.

Again, thank you for the link to see what this is all about. Very illuminating.}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I have changed the settings on your block to allow you to create an account. One thing i will point out though is that having strong views is great, but they should not come across in articles you edit. Also, remember, that you will not always be right, be willing to listen to what others have to say. Good luck, and happy editing--Jac16888 (talk) 16:29, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
