WP class
Hey, just saw your post about your upcoming class,
- Hi! You responded on my page asking for recommendations for WikiProjects and pages. Looking at the subject matter, I'd recommend the following WikiProjects: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women/Women in Red (a WP focused on coverage concerning women), and Wikipedia:WikiProject Technology, just as a few. As for pages, here's some that I've found just with a quick search.
- Danae Ringelmann is the founder of Indiegogo. Her main claim to fame is IGG, but a search brings up some news sources that focus specifically on her like the New York Times and Elle. Here's some of the other stuff I found: Forbes, TechRepublic, Billboard. I can't entirely guarantee that she'd be independently notable from IGG, but there seems like there would be a strong case to be made for her independent notability. She's not exactly literature and film related per se, but IGG has had a big impact on filmmakers and authors that have used the website.
- WP:NBOOK. Offhand I found this reviewin JSTOR, which is promising. At the very least it'd likely be useful with finding new topics. I'm not sure how much it ties into technology, but it's a good start.
- WP:NFILM. Here's the IMDb page and the official websitewith more information.
- She Started It. This is another documentary and is about female founders in the tech industry. A quick search brought up the following: Forbes, Huffington Post, Fast Company, Inc.com, Upstart Business Journal, NYT.
- Women, Technology, and the Myth of Progress by Eileen B. Leonard. This one might not fit within the scope of your class since it's kind of loose - it's about technology as it affects women, not necessarily about women in technology. The publisher's page made the book seem interesting. I only found one review on JSTOR, so I'm not entirely sure that it'd pass NBOOK, although it does seem to be frequently cited.
- The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage. This already has an article, but it's in desperate need of fleshing out. This is a graphic novel that covers Lovelace's contributions, so this one could be fun for your students to get into.
- The Case of the Missing Moonstone. This one is completely fictional and is part of a series that pairs Lovelace with Mary Shelley (!), and the two form a girl's detective agency. It's a little silly, but I thought it'd be kind of fun to mention. This is more something I'm mentioning because it could be interesting to show how some of the most well known women in technology have crossed into pop culture as a whole. If anyone's interested, it might be better to create a page for the series rather than the individual book, since it's difficult for children's series to gain enough coverage for all of the books to merit an entry and a series page would be more comprehensive, even though this looks to be a newly launched series. (Plus it's easier to establish notability for a series page.) Offhand I found reviews from Publishers Weekly, CBC, Booklist, and the Financial Times.
- Hopefully these suggestions are helpful! (。◕‿◕。) 05:18, 7 January 2016 (UTC)]
- Also, if they want, I can start some of the articles and they can work on improving them. (。◕‿◕。) 07:23, 9 January 2016 (UTC)]
- Thank you so much for these, Tokyogirl79! If you have time and are willing to create stubs for those pages, the students would so appreciate it! I will assign some of the existing pages to the class. Thanks again! AnitaConchita (talk) 21:24, 13 January 2016 (UTC)]
- I'll see what I can do - I may start off with a draft page for some of the articles if I'm unsure if they'll pass or not. (。◕‿◕。) 04:31, 14 January 2016 (UTC)]
- Hi! Here's the article I told you about, where I mention briefly last year's edit-a-thon. Thought you might find it of interest!: http://www.artcritical.com/2015/04/02/natalie-hegert-on-feminist-art/ Natty1dread (talk) 23:37, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Event coordinator granted
![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c6/Wikipedia_Event_coordinator.svg/130px-Wikipedia_Event_coordinator.svg.png)
After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:
- The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
- The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
- Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! Swarm ♠ 20:53, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Adrienne Maree Brown
On 30 September 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Adrienne Maree Brown, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Adrienne Maree Brown writes for Bitch? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Adrienne Maree Brown. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Adrienne Maree Brown), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

New page, how do I add it to project?
![]() | This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Hi, how do I add things to do on the task list of WikiProject? I just created a page Harrisonpi (talk) 02:13, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Harrisonpi: When you created the article Filipino Heritage Month, you did not assign it any categories. A new page reviewer may do that for you. You can also add the article to a WikiProject by placing the banner of that project on the Talk page of the article. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 16:06, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Jmcgnh: Thanks for responding! I haven't logged in a bit and missed this query. AnitaConchita (talk) 20:13, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:AnitaConchita. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=AnitaConchita|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Actualcpscm (talk) 18:56, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
