Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Religious sector resistance against the Marcos dictatorship into Murder of Francisco Laurella, Fernando Pastor Sr., and Fernando Pastor Jr.. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 12:15, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks User:Diannaa! I usually add the templates, but I thought I rewrote it enough that it wasn't the same as the old text anymore, and I got lazy to add the templates. I've added the templates now.

I have personal reasons for not wanting to participate in an AfD, unfortunately. As for drafting a new article, that's fine by me, except that I feel the current draft is severely lacking in detail and nuance. (And has a few grammatical issues.) Why not just expand the current list and move it to an article? That would be much less work. - Chieharumachi (talk) 13:49, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mostly, I'm concerned that the precise sequence of events was not given importance here, and also removed from the current version of the text. Dates are important because they demonstrate: (a) the insensitivity of the act at a particular point in history (when there were few tests); which actions on which dates led to violations of the algorithm. To my mind, these are essentially "criminal" acts (in the popular, if not necessarily also legal, sense), so timelines are absolutely important. - Chieharumachi (talk) 13:59, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of something I added.

Hi Chieharumachi,

You deleted info that added on Imelda Marcos, while I agree with your perception based on what you saw. Someone deleted the main element of why in my opinion it should be there.

The following was deleted, since I last posted it, and is crucial to its relevance there.

Meg Adonis of Philippine Daily Inquirer noted and recommended the documentary as a way to look at Marcos' relationship with the entertainment industry. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Imelda_Marcos&diff=955833976&oldid=955762921

There is more regarding the implication of Marcos in the making of the film, but removed it to focus on the content with her in the film. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Imelda_Marcos&diff=prev&oldid=955488538

Have a look and let me know, obviously sad to see what I consider good information to be gone.

However Marcos relationship with Cinema isn't seen at all in this article, so whether the The Search for Weng Weng is kept or not. What the film talks about in that regard to her relationship with Cinema should be observed.Filmman3000 (talk) 17:49, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

HiFilmman3000. That was not me. I don't usually delete things immediately unless they're blatantly contrary to fact, or extremely irrelevant. I tag them for further discussion. You may want to check the article history to see who might have done the actual deleting. Also, you may want to discuss this on the article's actual talk page, so that others can comment. (There seems to be a section for discussing that matter.) I hope that in that way, you can get some clarity on the matter. All the best, Chieharumachi (talk) 04:25, 21 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]

DYK for Marcos jewels

On 2 September 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Marcos jewels, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that ousted Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos and his wife Imelda left 400 pieces of unlawfully acquired jewelry in their palace and were caught smuggling out another $5–10 million worth of gems? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Marcos jewels. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Marcos jewels), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I (admittedly gradually, since I realized some of these late) left notices in the places I thought ethically necessary to do so:
  1. on your talk page first,
  2. on the BLPN discussion regarding the ANI discussion;
  3. on the ANI discussion regarding the BLPN discussion; and
  4. on the talk page of the article in question, Imelda Marcos.
I don't think I missed anything else; possibly the wikiprojects covering said article? But I'm giving serious thought as to whether that is necessary. This side-task of pushing for
WP:CIVIL in discourse is a tiresome task, you know, as there are many other articles that need attention. Anyway, The four I mentioned above, however, were places where I felt notices were both conversationally appropriate and necessary for stakeholder participation. - Chieharumachi (talk) 19:03, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply

Hi User:Sennecaster. If it was the passage that was recentely deleted, I don't remember the edit, especially since it cites a fact I don't even think is interesting. And am aghast at the idea that it could have been me. I suppose it's possible I accidentally published an edit before I could rephrase it. I see that the relevant passage has been removed, or I would have removed it myself and apologized. Is there anything further I can do to rectify this? :S - Chieharumachi (talk) 06:44, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not that I know of, but a silly mistake like that is generally fine. Just don't make a habit of it :) Sennecaster (What now?) 10:43, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Noted with much gratitude User:Sennecaster. My memory of that article is one of very rapid edits, filling in one fact after the other as the The Kingmaker (film) film became more and more popular. :S The only thing I can think of is that I must have clicked publish without realising I had not yet actually done the requisite paraphrasing :S Yes, I shall certainly try to be more careful in the future. Thank you very much for the notice. - Chieharumachi (talk) 13:57, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wait. User:Sennecaster, I have attempted to go through the edits, particularly edit 802214288, and I am beginning to wonder if it was User:Xanders995 who performed those edits, not me. That would explain why I don't remember the edits. I DO, however, often move article sections around or reproduce parts of the article in the article or secton ledes, to form a summary, with the assumption that other editors have done their due diligence. Which may have been why some of the content has been attributed to me. Is this possible? If so it would certainly stop me from beating myself up over an error of judgement I do not remember making. :S If it somehow was me, of course, I must continue to profusely apologize. - Chieharumachi (talk) 14:11, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Focus on Marcos?

Hi Chieharamuchi I’m curious that you seem to post a lot of edits on Marcos. Are you a Marcos historian or do you work with the Marcoses? LeoCastillo (talk) 09:22, 23 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have been busy so I just saw this. I'm not sure I qualify as a Martial Law era historian, since I have no degree in history, unless you count a class or two on art history. But I and my family (both biological and in-laws) do read a lot about the Martial Law era, and my family a small library of personally-collected books about that time in our history. That's about it. I do this as a hobby, based on books which I have access to. - Chieharumachi (talk) 08:55, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
