Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Make You Happy (album), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Icehouse and Michael Chapman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Article Improvement

Hi Shaider, Could you please help me with your assistance as to what I actually need to do to further improve my four band articles individually? I would like my VL article to ascertain a 'GA' status, while I also wish to reach higher than the 'Start' class category with the other three articles. Unfortunately I currently do not have any copyright access to photo images of the bands.

Dr.warhol (talk) 08:44, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problems. I hope you had a good Xmas and New Year. Yes I did read it. I envisage some problems but we'll see what I can do. The other 3 articles are The leftovers, FunThings and Survivors.

Dr.warhol (talk) 04:08, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Vampire Rave site does constitute problems as it does not retain information but only advises the ratings of the day. Vampire Rave has approx 24,000 followers last time I checked. The ability to sustain Top 20 in the band ratings for such a long period still seems amazing(?). I will go along with your conclusion though.

I have discovered a few interesting articles on the VLs that maybe worthy of some quotes. I will edit the interesting quotes in to see what you think. You might prefer to exclude them, however, it seems relevant.

Thanks for the pointers on the other articles. I will approach them a little later. Dr.warhol (talk) 09:58, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My belief is that the band only toured Sydney. Various members moved there on different occasions in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band did a tour there in sometime 1989. I believe Ian Mc.Farlane is incorrect this instance.

Dr.warhol (talk) 12:16, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think I can.

F2 Deletions

The images are at Commons, and it's only the local description page which was flagged, and as it seems deleted according to policy.

The notifications have ended up on your tlak page, because as far as Wikipedia thinks, you were the 'creator' of the local description page on Wikipedia. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:04, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of banners

Hi Shaidar, Recently I've tried to make contact with adminhelp and the Village Pump about the need to revise any problematic language or quotes for the banners placed over my articles talk pages but I have not received a reply. As you have been such great help, could you please help with what must done to improve this area of discrepancy. Also, there is no talk page on The Survivors (Australian band). What can I do to rectify this? Dr.warhol (talk) 09:59, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to Peggy Van Zalm's personal website the reason that the band broke up was primarily due the she "had not accepted my role or the success with grace and ease... I was at odds with what was required of me as a 'commercial artist'." She also indicates health reasons which appear to be stress related. The band's last gig was supporting Grant McLennan though I'm yet to track down a specific date. Dan arndt (talk) 07:39, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know that I've been slack about references (been busy @work). I can remember seeing somewhere that the split single reached #1 on the local charts but can't think where to start looking for a verifiable reference. Also according to Van Zalm after the band she toured Europe to fulfill the bands obligations in promotion of their album. Unfortunately it's hard to find any verifiable references for that as well. WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed between 12-14 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the initial messages I sent out went to only WikiProject members and users that had over 15 reviews).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. Now, one of the most important criteria is that you have at least 15 independent reviews. If you are reading this, you are likely 3 (or less) reviews short, so if you review another couple nominations, you can become a recruiter! If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a recruiter but do not meet the 15 review requirement, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters and put your status as "Not Available" until you have reviewed enough nominations.

  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Help needed

Was working on the article, "Joe Cool", as I thought it was worth saving. I managed to find a reference that the song was nominated for an ARIA Award in 1991 and that it reached #1 on the Australian Independent Charts. What I haven't been able to track down is a good verifiable reference to either of those two facts. So I need help - any suggestions on where to look... Dan arndt (talk) 10:06, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the work done - I believe that this was the first song that she performed lead vocals for (as well as the first song for the band that she wrote). Dan arndt (talk) 03:41, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No she performed on the double A-side "Surfing on a Wave of Love"/"He's Hell" (which apparently also was nominated for an ARIA - not reliable references for that though). Dan arndt (talk) 04:07, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If memory serves me it was in the article before I edited it - I guess I left it in without really thinking about it - was more intrested in establishing notability - my bad. Dan arndt (talk) 04:32, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your editing at Ian McFarlane to clear up the notability concerns! This is exactly what the {{notability}} tag was designed for: to indicate to users interested in an article that the subject's notability has been questioned so that they can work to address the concerns before an article is hastily nominated for deletion, and to quote User:CaesarsPalaceDude, "at the end of the day Wikipedia has an improved article".

Hi Shaidar cuebiyar & Dan, yeah, I'm back again. I've got nothing against Mr. Ian McFarlane. I don't know him. I've never met him. I've read that he's done a lot of good stuff. All of the above would equally apply to you. Also, I've read 3 articles, and found obvious issues with each one. I haven't done much to help, because I have articles to work on that are British rock. Re Ayers Rock, I don't think the article, as it is currently, does justice to an interesting and innovative band. I just want a fair go for the band. Can we keep it on an intellectual level, please? I don't want the discussion to degenerate. Have a great day.CaesarsPalaceDude (talk) 11:57, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
