His real name is Mher, but colloquially he is almost always referred to as "Frunzik", including in film credits (for example, in 01-99 its "Ֆ. Մկրտչյան", Kidnapping, Caucasian Style also mentions "Frunzik" instead of Mher). Google yields 90,600 results for "Ֆրունզիկ" and 78,7000 results for "Մհեր Մկրտչյան". In Russian, "Frunzik Mkrtchyan" (136,000) has even more advantage over "Mher Mkrtchyan" (39,900). I think we should go by
WP:COMMONNAME
here and as you can see Frunzik is more common than Mher.
Nzhdeh could easily be included in the infobox, but I think it would be best to exclude politicians (the only politician included there is
Battle of Sardarapat. --Երևանցի talk 23:25, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply

I do not agree with you in keeping the article as Frunzik for many reasons:
  • His stage name was not always credited as Frunzik, in mahy cases he was credited as Mher.
  • His name on his tombstone is Mher, not Frunzik.
  • A street in Yerevan was named after him as "Mher Mkrtchyan", not Frunze or Frunzik Mkrtchyan.
  • "Mher Mkrtchyan" at google search gives 169,000 results, while "Frunze Mkrtchyan" gives 101,000.
  • A 2005 Armenia stamp issued in memory of him bears the name Mher, not Frunzik.

Hence, I suggest to restore the name Mher Mkrtchyan.--

Please provide examples of films where he is credited as Mher Mkrtchyan. Name on a stamp, street name and such things don't really mean anything when considering
WP:COMMONNAME. Frunze is not the same as Frunzik. --Երևանցի talk 05:51, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply

"Frunzik Mkrtchyan" results only 39,000 at Google!! However, in most Armenian movies he is credited as Ֆ.(Մ.) Մկրտչյան, while in theatrical shows he is credited as Մհեր Մկրտչյան. I forgot to mention that a renowned theatre in Yerevan (on Khorenatsi street) is also named after him as <<Մհեր Մկրտչյան>> արտիստական թատրոն: For all the reasons mentioned above, I guess Mher is more appropriate than Frunze or Frunzik.--

Hi Yerevantsi. I don't understand why you nominated this article for speedy deletion. There is enough press coverage about this person to at least meet a "credible claim of significance". (Yes, I am well aware of the context here.) Pete AU --Shirt58 (talk) 09:14, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"press coverage" doesn't make someone notable. Also, "enough" is always debatable. There are Armenian community leaders almost in every country, that doesn't mean we should make articles on them. --Երևանցի talk 18:17, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Turkey shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
